A super interested noob that's glad to be here :)

Hello Everyone!

Just wanted to say I'm real new to lucid dreaming and this seems like great community just to hang, chat, and learn.

I've just started researching up on lucid dreaming for about 2 days only and it seems really interesting. There still a lot or terminology I need to get acquainted with, but I'm looking forwards to it.

I did try to have a lucid dream last night with no avail. I did wake up earlier than I usually do, so I thought, hey why not try lucid dreaming? Trying by best to stay still an just relax, I got uncomfortable a few times and had to shift my position. Eventually, I felt I was comfortable, and began to relax more. Soon enough, my body felt a wave of.. something, and I felt heavy. Unfortunately was, my mind was still awake and jittery. I felt excitement bubble within me and it was hard to relax.

Finally, I started to drift off without realizing it and I thought I felt my hand move. I 'opened' my eyes and saw that I was in bed and my hands were on top of my blanket; They were not when I fell asleep. I waved my arm back and forth and I thought to myself,"What? Why am I moving? Wasn't I supposed to be staying still and all that? Wait... What if this is a drea-"

Then I woke up. When I did, I felt an intense spinning sensation, and I realized I was back in my own bed, awake. I wonder if that counts as anything; Perhaps a false awakening? And, if so, how can you stabilize dreams, if they just fade away before you can?

People like to reality check if they suspect they have had a false awakening (or even if they don't). I had my first lucid dream last night and I made the noob mistake of not reality checking or stabilising the dream. I've been told that to stabilise a dream you have to try not to get excited or act too hastily when you realise you are lucid dreaming. They tell you to remain aaabsolutely calm otherwise you become too excited and wake up (which is exactly what happened to me - I didn't think to try to do either of the 2 things I was meant to because I wasn't actually trying to lucid).

You seem to be getting some very good results for only learning about lucid dreaming for 2 days:) Youll do great sounds like you even reached sleep paralsis SP(thats a term you will get used to) and might have even had a wild (wake induced lucid dream).
