So, I've always been really interested in dreams and maybe a year ago I found out about lucid dreams. It seemed like a lot of work and I didn't think I could do it. However, last night, I tried for the first time and I DID IT. I was so amazed!
I read some stuff on this website and it really helped. I wrote down some phrases like "I will remember my dream tonight" and "I will have a lucid dream" and "I will do a reality check". I think I was going for the DILD technique, but I may have accidentally done the WILD technique without trying to. I believe I had a few false awakenings, hell, my lucid dream was a false awakening, haha.
So, I did a reality check (the one where you try to push your fingers through your hand) and it definitely didn't feel right, and I knew I was dreaming. But then, I woke up in my bed. I got up, but noticed my giant wall mirror had switched walls and the reflection was definitely not right, then I began to notice the blur of the room and how dark it was, so I immediately looked down at my hands and start yelling "increase focus", "focus now", "bright now"
And to my amazement, things began to clear and this ambient light filled the room! I knew I was dreaming and aware at this point, so I tried some things out.
The first was a jump-fly thing. Needless to say it was an epic fail, and no different from a normal jump. But then I tried running up the walls in a gravity defying way, kind of like in that game "Prototype", and I managed to do that, and I didn't fall to the ground, its almost like I floated or just appeared there.
I was ready to leave my room to explore but then I closed my eyes for just a second, and the next thing I know I wake up in my bed, actually awake.
I tried to go back to sleep and get more lucid dreams, and I think I did, but I barely had a chance to look at my hands to stabilize it before the dream collapsed. I just gave up after a point, I started to feel mentally exhausted.
Sorry to go on and on, its just. WOW. I never thought something like that could happen. I'm definitely gonna try again tonight, Anything you think I may be doing wrong here? Or something I could improve on? Point me to some good tutorials?
I LOVE DREAMING.
