      Spinning is a technique used by lucid dreaming to stabilize the dream, to anchor yourself with it, so you'll not wake up abruptly.

      Usually, you can wake up from a lucid dream just by closing and opening your eyes (works for some people, others not). I belive our objective here is to not wake up from a lucid dream.

      I usually exit a lucid dream when it gets nasty...rather than deal with a nightmare...

      Depending on the nightmare, if I turn lucid I'd rather travel to another dreamscene, usually it's not that hard
