"We must put an end to Lucid Dreaming. Lucid Dreaming is a detriment to society and should be stopped."
(Miss you MSG)
Yes its real, because I don't think we all are making that .
It's like asking is consciousness real? Consciousness is an experience and cannot be measured...it's in non lucid dreams as well just that it's consciousness without a reference to waking memory. I can recognize what I see and who I see in the dream but cannot remember any or very little waking memory about it. In a lucid dream, the only thing that makes it a lucid dream is the presence of waking memory because I become lucid because of something I saw or experience in the dream that did not match that waking memory of it and therefore I can conclude it's a dream. Another occasion is a light cue I see in the dream...I know what light it is and that it's the light I fixed but I just wait for the light to go off and I continue with the dream, there was no waking memory to link the light with waking life which is to do an RC or whatever I planned and it has happened few times when I use light cues. And other times when the light comes on and enters the dream I'd see images from waking life linking to it but it's random and not planned and fragmented. So the question you asked 'Is Lucid Dreaming Real'....I'd say it is because it's the same consciousness and with waking memory unless you dismiss consciousness itself not being real.

Have you really never had a lucid dream? o_o Perhaps you are mixing up dream control with lucidity. :/ Dream control involves controlling elements of your dream, while being lucid in a dream just means that you are aware that you are dreaming while in the dream.
Of course it isn't real. It is all just a dream.

Normally my post would stop there, :roll:but since we are in the Newbie section:
Is lucid dreaming real?
Try it. Try to lucid dream - follow the tutorials here.
With a little self discipline and luck you find your way to it.
The length of time to lucid dreaming varies from person to person.
The pointers are all here for anyone to try and to "experience" it for themselves, to become aware in a dream so you are consciously dreaming.
