Question Problem with transitioning with WILD

Hey DreamViews, I was a lurker for a while until i decided to join DV. I had a few LDs after i found this site. One was a WILD which was pure luck and got me 5 lucid dreams and 4 Non lucid dreams. I recently tried to WILD during a nap but i couldn't get through the transition to Dream. I seen the hypnagogic hallucinations turn into more vivid objects but it stops and i do a RC to make sure i dreaming but I'm not. I can't seem to get SP and transition into a dream.

You have to try and use your other senses not just seeing. Try and here the things in the dream. Think of the smells and if you can try touching things. Hope this helps.

I was always a dreamer, in childhood especially. People thought I was a little strange.-Charley pride

Much of it is reliant on timing. You have to be falling asleep at a time when you will be entering a dream. What time did you nap when you succeeded? That might be your magic hour.

Yea how do you find the right time period. Are you suppose to wake up during a dream, before REM, or after REM. Usually when I tried it I would wake up after a dream. I only got sp once.

thanks. and No this was my 2nd wild that i actually succeeded in. I had many attempts which i failed either by being to sleepy, to awake or being impatience.

Well it was at around 9:30 a.m after I had my Bioethics Class. I toke a nap since i didn't get much sleep before at night because of a project i had to do.

Well it was trial and error, i couldn't do it during the middle of night since i could lose some sleep for school so i usually try it while napping after class. I usually drink coffee so i can stay awake for the wild if i'm to sleepy.
During the wild i had some short vivid non-lucid dreams but i tried to DEILD in some and only got 2 Lucids that lasted a min or 2. I then had another dream scene in front of me that i couldn't get in. So i gave up and started to just fall asleep and had a long non-lucid dream.

You probably succeeded because you didn't sleep much the previous night. I used to get the craziest dreams, and easiest lucids when I would pull all-nighters.

If you are waking up naturally, chances are it is after REM. Ideally, you want to time your WBTB/ WILD so that you are entering REM as you are falling asleep during your WILD.

Yea I got really drunk saturday night so I didn't get that much sleep. So last night was awsome because I had some intense long vivid dreams. I can't believe I didn't get lucid on my last vivd dream. I was at a beach and it was dark out and I looked at the moon and there were two of them. Then I looked at the horizon and the sun had an eclipse over it. It was so real looking. Then I left the beach for a second and came back and it was light out and was like wait a minute it was just dark out. I was like o well I guess I didn't sleep at all then. God I can't believe it didn't go lucid because that was the most vivid dream I've ever had.

      Wink

I got the hang of WILDing now i get at least 2-3 Lucids per Nap. I might try to do a WBTB to see if i can do it. Also any of my failed wilds are usually very vivd non-lucids.
