Could this mean I'm close?

I had a dream I got all my stuff ready for school. Then I walked to school with my cousin. About halfway through I stopped.

"Wait. Isn't this a dream? I don't go to school with you. I don't even live out here. Isn't it July still? So I must be dreaming, right Nick?"

"..I don't know"

I....don't think I went lucid. I remember seeing a trampoline right after that and thinking "HEY I WANT TO JUMP ON THAT" but...I'm not sure. After that the dream just continued to me being in a Megaman game.

Could this possibly mean I was close to getting a DILD?

I remember before bed though I concentrated on stuff. I was half asleep half awake. I was thinking about how I went to a waterpark earlier, and I could actually feel the movements of the slides. Dunno if that has anything to do with it though, lol.

I don't have a lot of experience with lucid dreaming, in fact I'm new to the site, but I have had a similar experience before. It happened while I was at school and my teacher asked us to take out our binders and copy something on the board. I remember thinking "Hey, wait, I haven't even gotten my school supply list yet!" and realizing that I was dreaming. I don't know if it counts for a DILD because I woke up right after that happened.

Maybe it's sort of a 'half-DILD' when you realize it's a dream but fall out of lucidity or wake up the next second? Hmm...

You were really close. Never trust DCs. That, and pay a bit more attention to your surroundings.

Okay, update!

Last night, I finally had a real lucid dream! I'm really excited because I made things appear and disappear AND I opened up a portal. I was in a parking lot and kept making the cars go away and then come back into existence, haha.

Tonight I'm hoping for another stroke of luck. Last time I used a combination of MILD/WILD techniques, i guess you could say, because I tried to do a MILD, failed, woke up, and tried the WILD steps. When I fell asleep I was lucid! My tip is to do a lot of reality checks during the day, especially of the nose pinch variety. Before bed set an alarm for about 5 or 6. Go to bed around 11 and say a mantra to yourself over and over again. If you don't have an LD during the first 6-7 hours of sleep, when the alarm goes off, you can repeat your mantra for about 5 minutes and then attempt a WILD. I'm going to do this all over again tonight and see what i come up with!
