Well, the first step is to start dream journaling. Keep a dream journal next to your bed and write stuff down whatever you can remember when you wake up. A good idea is to write down anything, even if you can only remember once image, or a word, or whatever. Always write something down.
If you keep consistent with your dream journaling, you'll notice that your dreams will become more and more coherent. Dream recall is the first key to have lucid dreams. By improving your dream recall you'll learn to get used to your dreams. This is essential, because it'll help your mind to seperate dreaming from waking reality.
Other than that, just keep motivated. Dream journal every night, read about lucid dreaming, reality check or improve your overall awareness and critical thinking, think about how much you want to have lucid dreams, know that you'll have lucid dreams.
Finally you can add on some techniques such as WBTB and/or MILD.

As for WILDing I can't be of much help. I've only had 3 WILDs myself. My only tip is to keep practicing and don't giving up.
Good luck! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask
