Hello all, this is my first post on Dream Views!
I've been interested in Lucid Dreams for a long time although, to my knowledge, have never had one. I originally got interested as a method of having an OBE but have long since put that on the back burner in favor of just attaining an LD first! This is the longest I've been interested and continuously pursuing my goal though, so I feel pretty optimistic and things have been going alright.
I've been building up my Dream Recall and keeping a Dream Journal recently. I'm surprised that dreams became rather vivid and memorable pretty fast as I almost never remembered my dreams previously unless under special circumstances. I've been doing this in order to build up my chances of a DILD, along with some other things. Meanwhile, since I have pretty open hours and some free time right now, I've been trying to WILD a lot. I'm trying various things and experimenting to find what works best with me. I think my technique is pretty good but I'm getting stalled...
Whenever I get to the point, I believe it is either at the beginning of the Transition phase or just before it, when my body locks up and HI begins to get rather vivid (basically when shit starts getting weird) my heart starts pounding and before I can get it to slow down enough I've botched the whole attempt. I've had HI before naturally and am rather good at keeping calm during weird distorted noises as I've had those almost commonly before as well (usually when I drift off in the afternoon). I'm not scared (I think) of what's going on, I guess just excited that I'm getting closer to an LD finally. Can anyone recommend anything to calm me down a bit, or a way to keep my mind off of what's going on? Maybe I'm just jumping the gun with attempting WILD as my first LD... but I'm eager.
