Lucid/Dream Recall History
I have never experienced a lucid dream that I can remember.
My dream recall has always been kind of on and off. Sometimes I remember a dream without trying, but most of the time I have to be making some sort of effort. What time I wake up affects it, as well as how I wake up. Overall, it's pretty good, want to improve.
Current Technique
I am going to start back up with a WBTB for the rest of this week.
-
Reality Checks:
-I did a reality check when I saw a weird white pumpkin with red leaves on my front porch. Turned out it was a gift to my Mom, not a dream.
-
Reasons for lucid dreaming:
-To explore fantasy's
-Explore my inner self
-Practice dream control
-Improve myself
-Have fun!
-
Lesson 2:
I am going to attempt the WBTB for the next two weeks. With this one I have had near success in the past. I will report tonights progress in another post. I also need to work on improving my dream recall.

WBTB Attempt #1:
My body naturally woke itself up at about 2:55 AM this morning after my first long dream cycle. I wrote in my dream journal for about 15 minutes, played a game to wake up my analytical part of my brain for about 5 minutes and read up on WBTB techniques. After about 30 minutes, I went back to bed and got into position. Almost immediately HI started up. This time was weird for me, because I heard conversations in my HI. I got dragged in very quickly and lost my mental consciousness. However, I did have a very good, vivid dream afterwards. I will try again tonight!
-
WBTB Attempt #2: Didn't really happen. I went to bed around 9 PM last night, couldn't fall asleep. Ended up tossing and turning, drinking milk, wandering my house and reading. I finally fell asleep around 11:30. Could only remember 1 dream in the morning, was too tired to attempt a WBTB.
-
Was too tired this morning for a WBTB attempt, been feeling a bit under the weather. Will attempt tonight.
-
WBTB Attempt #3?: I set the intention to do a WBTB last night, and I don't know what happened, but I woke up at my normal wake up time, not being able to remember a single dream (unusual for me) and not being able to remember the times during the night that I woke up. Very disappointing. I am going to attempt the WBTB tonight, hopefully with better results.
-
Maybe you just needed your sleep. One thing that helps have more natural wakes is drinking a bit of water pre bed.
-
I'll try that! I attempted another WBTB last night with the best results (technically) I have gotten. I woke up this morning about 3 AM, tried to wake my brain up, then went to bed after 30 mins. I couldn't fall asleep for about 45 minutes, and eventually just gave up on my intention and just desperately tried to fall asleep. Eventually, I did, and I had a semi-lucid dream! I knew in the back of my mind, for at least most of the dream that I was dreaming, but it was like I didn't care. I am excited to try again to night, and will report. I will take your advice, and try it tonight. Thanks, NyxCC!

Didn't do a WBTB last night, because I was too tired. I only remembered a fragment of 1 dream, and a tiny little bit of another. For the last few nights, I have been going to bed about 45 minutes later than I normally do, and would like do. I think I need to slow down on the WBTB's for a little while and just establish a strong dream recall. Does this sound like a good idea?
-
I tried what I said I would (getting to bed earlier) and I was rewarded! I remembered 4 dreams last night, plus a 5th that I didn't write down and has now escaped me (I know that it wasn't lucid). I think I will continue to do this for about a week, then start incorporating some WBTB into my sleep schedule.
-
Wow it's been a really long time since I have tried to Lucid dream, but I'm back! I really want to get this, and perhaps 3rd time is a charm. Its been almost 2 years since I started trying to lucid dream, I tried for a couple months the beginning of 2014, and then towards the end of 2014, and now I'm back, at the end of 2015. I going to get it this time, I was so close last time!
So tonight I'm going to kick things back off with a WBTB, seeing as how I have sometime to sleep tonight! I'm starting to keep track and record my dreams again, so I can see if any of my dream signs have changed, so I can adapt my RC's accordingly. I hope tonight goes well!
