Hi first post! Welcome. It looks like you got a good start there. Feel free to post questions or give one of a PM if you need anything. I would suggest you start a dream journal or if you keep one offline that is fine. Make sure to write in it everyday even if you only have a few fragments or no recall. I feel that doing so will help your recall even more. Good luck! |

I've been writing a couple dreams into my journal every morning, but it's a pad of paper because my computer screen wakes me up. I will type out my interesting dreams later. |

Welcome, totoroben! |

I actually chose WILD because I usually get up around 4-5am to use the bathroom anyways, but I'm also hoping to use DILD. |

Well I kind of fell off the bus here. The last two nights I haven't done any dream journaling. I couldnt really remember my dream last night. It's like walking into a different room and forgetting what you walked in there for. I also haven't done much reality checking during the day. From now on I will do a reality check while |

Don't worry if you have a few bad nights. I only recalled two fragments that I recorded in the night. When I went to read them later it was just gibberish. |

I don't think that stating when and where you are going to do your reality checks is a good idea, it's better to just spread them all over your day time activities, and don't forget that awareness is what brings you lucid dreams, so it's better to really question whether you are in a dream or not before doing the RC, and not going through the motion mindlessly. |

Previously known as areyoume
"A winner has to speak not of the world as it is, but of the world as it should be!"
I've been logging about 1-2 dreams nightly on my notepad. I got a little reading light from the dollar store because too much light wakes me up and makes it hard to sleep again. I've been doing reality checks itermittedly during the day and like areyoume said, I've been trying to bring awareness to my everyday activities. The dream I had an hour ago made absolutely no sense, and I was explaining to my sister in my dream about doing reality checks such as plugging her nose. It didn't dawn on me that I was dreaming, but at least my attempts to go into lucid dreaming are getting closer. I want to go back to sleep but I'm tossing and turning a lot and cant really get comfortable. Oh well. |
|
That's actually pretty cool! It's not uncommon at all to have nonlucid dreams where you discuss lucidity with another dream character, where said dream ends up preceding a full-on lucid. It definitely means you're on the right track, because you have the thought of lucid dreaming on your mind alot. |
|
Yeah!! I think that OpheliaBlue is 100% right. This is a really great sign. I remember this kind of thing happening to me really often the more lucid dreaming permeated my thoughts. Heck, it still happens! |
|
I got some blue blocking amber colored glasses. I was reading a study about how blocking blue light in the evening can signal your brain to produce more melatonin, and blue blocking/HD glasses are pretty cheap so I thought what the hell. |
|
Wanted to mention here that I became lucid twice tonight, but only a few seconds until I woke up. I tried spinning/looking at my hands to stabilize, but I lost it. Wrote it down in the dream snippets. |
|
Excellent!! That is great news! :bravo: |
|
thanks for the response. I like what you said about just sitting back and drinking it in. I try to quick to jump into it and try and control it. Maybe I should just be a casual observer for a while. |
|
Fortunately, you can both jump into the scene actively and drink in that scenery! Active engagement in the dream scene and its details is a great way to both experience the dream and get really anchored into the dream. It's all about remaining super engaged without getting SO excited that you wake up. (Edit: You're very right about dialing back the hardcore dream control, at least at the very beginning part.) |

Got Lucid Dreaming Gateway to the Inner Self by Robert Waggoner from the library. I'm going to have an OBE in which I visit my old supervisor and punch him in the face! I'm coming for you! |

I added being in school to my dreamsigns, because I've had a couple different dreams about field trips. I always write the time I wake up in the morning in my dream journal so I'm curious what would happen if I woke up 30 minutes earlier. I think I would probably be in a deeper REM state, because usually my dream recall is when I'm just waking up and most of the time I just catch the end of the dream. I will try this tonight and let you all know. I will also work on my reality checks and awareness during the day. |

I find that the internet is distracting. This forum seems to be a constructive use of time, in that it helps me to think about my lucid dream goals, but I need to not spend as much time elsewhere on the internet such as checking facebook obsessively. This alone would help me to achieve my goals of getting more exercise and drawing and having a higher awareness. The internet is a time suck lol. |
|
Ahahaha yea the internet is a time suck indeed. Also, I agree with you in that this forum is a good place to spend some time in. Just reading other people's posts and experiences boosts your lucid mindset. If you spend a longer time here, you'll find that the posts and members will seep into your subconscious and you'll even dream about them! Haha |

I haven't been practicing the last few days. The last dreams I logged were from the 17th. I'm going to try and refocus my intention and get back on my lucid dreaming again. |
