So, did this happen at 4am? Or was this at the beginning of the night? If it was at the beginning of the night you must have been preeeetttyyyy tired to hit REM so quickly

are you sleep deprived by chance?

It sounds like your RC may have failed, or you performed it without truly questioning if it was a dream. All in all, you are on the right track, and it's great that your RC's are translating over to your dreams!

I had some dreams before that, so I think it was around 4 am.
