      DEILD Problems

      Hi,

I've been trying to do a DEILD for a while now, but to no avail. I have three alarms set up, two tell me "don't move" and the third wakes me after the other two have relayed their message.
When I wake up I'm still in sleep paralysis (it feels the same as when I do it from waking) then I just lie there for maybe 5 minutes, watching the light patterns, until I get so bored I give up.
There is no vibration, no sounds, no imagery, nothing except feeling numb and seeing lights, which I can always see if I close my eyes anyway. Should I just wait longer? or am I doing something wrong? Also, I woke up a day or two ago and got out of bed into a dream, but the second I realised, I was pulled back into my actual body, hwo do I stop this from happening?

Well how about looking up FILD or WBTB? They're some easier techniques for when you wake yourself up with an alarm.

I tried the FILD technique, no luck, doing the finger thing kept me from falling asleep (but once I stopped I fell asleep in about 30 seconds).

You do not really move them, it's just a minor movement, just the muscles move. You are probably doing it too fast.

DEILD is a lot easier coming out of a lucid dream as you know you're going to wake up a few seconds before it happens.

A question about FILD.. do i just ever so slight and slowly move my fingers back and forth until I fall asleep? or does it involve specific timing?

I think you just have to move them, and focus on the movement, it's supposed to keep you concious, but for me it works a bit too well

Sorry for the double post, but I tried a few things last night, and the problem seems to be that no matter when I attempt a WILD, I get no hypnagogic imagery to speak of, I've tried it at all hours of the day to no avail. I get swirling lights etc. but they never become anything more organised than black and white blots and lines.
