      DILD more vivid than WILD?

So far, my dream resume has a whopping total of (1) DILD and (2) WILD's to my recollection. Just like most dreamers, my dreams are most intense and life-like during the 5th to 6th hour of sleep due to REM. During my single instance of DILD where I actually was able to do a reality check successfully, it was vivid with unbelievable clarity. I was even able to examine pebbles and rocks while walking on the beach. The imagery seem continuous.

On the other hand, it seems like my (2) successful WILD experiences were somewhat random and fuzzy. Many times, my dream scenery would turn into blackness and the imagery would disappear. Although the experiences were amazing to me, there was still something left to be desired. Its almost like I was somewhat half-awake during these dreams and too aware.

For those of you who are proficient at both WILD and DILD, is one experience more immersive than the other? Can my perceived drawbacks to WILD by mastered through practice? About a week ago, my body almost wakes up by habit around the 5th hour. Followin g this waking, I always make an attempt at WILD. To my dissappointment, I usually end up with insomnia due to my excitment and can't fall back asleep.

I have not found any correlation between induction techniques and the quality of the LD. I have had very low level and very high level using each one.

Like you, DILD and WILD are the main weapons in my arsenal, along with MILD.

Thanks for your response, Seeker. Do you have a preference among the 3 induction techniques?

My experience so far would lean toward WILD. DILD just seems like I would constantly have to question everything to a point where it would interfere with my everyday waking life. I'm worried about being a border-line nutcase from the constant reality checks.
