Nice thread, Carmine
Something I've learned is, the harder I try to force myself to have a lucid, the less likely I am to have one. In fact, I went through a spell where I was trying to WBTB every night, and failing at that; but it started wrecking my recall. Then it started wrecking my dreams in general (I wasn't getting "story" dreams, I was just having those "thought" dreams. The ones where you just
know all you've been doing all night is thinking about the things you can't let go of when you fall asleep).
I've taken a step back. I'm working on rebuilding the foundation that I had. Just making my recall is back up to par first (being able to recall dreams daily). To be honest, I'm done with trying any method that relies on a WBTB. For the remainder of my LD days, I'll work on my awareness for DILDs and I'll use mantras for when I fall asleep. I can chain dreams when I have been lucid or when the dream was strong enough.
I've had LD's since long before I found this site, and I'll always be able to have them; I just have to focus on what has normally worked for me and stop trying to force something that isn't meant for me yet
