After 4 Years, I Break My Silence....... (A Must Read)

      Hey Ladies and Gentlemen,

My name is Spiritofthewolf (DJ Jones), I have been a loyal member to DV for over 4 years now. I am writing this because through out the 4 years I have been a member, I have had so many people send me messages asking for help, advice, or just opinions, on how I go about Lucid Dreaming, or how did i become so good...

Many people ask me is there tricks I use, or used in the past that helped me in achieving Lucid Dreaming...

There are no tricks, No smoking mirrors, no rabbit in the hat...

In this IN DEPTH tutorial (if you want to call it that) I am going to explain bits and pieces of my life, that I don't share with just anybody, as well as 3 keys I live my life by, that will help you in every aspect of your life...

As a young child I was also blown away by dreams, I loved them, and still do til this day.. I loved the fact that your mind could take you to places you could never have imagined, while laying safe and sound inside your bed. Sort of like the pilot taking a quick nap on a cross country flight, and letting the auto pilot fly.. Only while your dreaming your crossing over many different realms.... I never kept a dream journal as a young child, but I can remember many vivid dreams, even after my 5 year drug addiction.

Yes, it maybe shocking to some, but I was addicted to drugs from the age of 15-20. I didn't use any of the hardcore drugs.. My main drugs were mushrooms, weed, pills.. I tried opium a few times but never got into it.... Despite that, I was able to overcome that addiction after a rude awakening in my life....

On October 25th of 2005 I was busted with an 8th of weed, and 20 pills of xanex (pronounced zan-x). I was on probation at the time and ended up spending 75 days in jail and then went to a 90 day inpatient treatment program, which I successfully completed on April 6th of 2006.. Some of you may be like, damn 75 days must of sucked...

If you really think about it, I had 75 days of nothing more to do, but dream and better myself as a person.....

Even though It had it's hard times, it paid off in the end. I am a better person today, with an amazing outlook on life.. I remember being 13 years old, ugly as shit, going through middle school, being made fun of so bad, that my mental state got so low I actually started seeing things that weren't really there... Even while laying down and trying to go to sleep... I overcame that through inner strength and am 110% fine today....

Now if you have read up to this point, you must be wondering what are the 3 Keys I live my Life by......

      1.) Trust
      2.) Honesty
      3.) Respect

Trust : This should be # 1 in everybody's life.. How can you be Honest with someone if you can't TRUST them? Also, how can you respect someone, if you cant TRUST them? See where this is going?

But even before all that, you must be true to yourself first... How can you Trust someone fully, when you don't fully trust or believe in yourself??? How can you be Honest with someone with all your heart and soul, when you aren't being honest with yourself? And again, How can you respect someone with everything you have, when you don't have any self respect?

Believe in yourself in every aspect of your life, including Lucid Dreaming.. Trust in yourself and know that you can reach the goals you want to when it comes to everyday life, or even with Lucid Dreaming...

Like I stated above, I have had many people ask me How I became I guess "So good" at Lucid Dreaming... It's not the fact that I became good, It's the fact that I guess I figured out an Understanding for it...

How I understand it is with 3 VERY important things

      1.) Mind
      2.) Body
      3.) Soul

I am going to break these 3 things down into individual groups so you get a better understanding of where I am coming from.

Note: This is all personal stuff I do in everyday life if need be...

1.) Mind: I will start off by saying this..... I am a very very very BIG day dreamer! I spend a lot of my time off in la la land where nothing can harm or bother me... I also spend time Meditating.. Through the years of growing up and going through the PAIN of life in middle school... I believe going through that stage could have triggered something in my brain (to find a place of peace, or to get away from all the bad things)... That is just an assumption I thought of--not stating it as fact...

I have told many people on this forum and in my life, that anytime day or night, I can close my eyes and Immediately get to a point with my mind, body, and soul, where I can sense what it would be like, being the only person standing there for miles.. Even if I am in a crowded mall on black friday, I can block everybody out and just be at peace on the inside.. Where did this come from, I have no idea.. am I special? No.. I just know what works for me, and I hold on to it...

A good way for those of you who may still be having a hard time following what I am saying.. Do a little test... Go outside and sit on your front steps and close your eyes... And just take relaxing breaths... the only way I can explain what to do next is just to "Let Go".. Be 1 with yourself.. Be 1 with your Mind, Body, and Soul, so you can experience true Inner Peace......

2.) Body: The Body is a little bit more easier to map out, but it may be hard for some others to do...... I have got my body down to a key, to where I know what I can and can't eat when i first wake up in the morning (because it will have a negative effect on my body.

Example: I know my body cannot handle eggs in the morning. As well as Orange Juice.. Why? I don't know, that is just the way my body is.. So I avoid Eggs and OJ in the morning as much as possible... I also know that by 12 o'clock noon, my body is okay to have a MOUNTAIN DEW, if I have one before then I get a little something called "Gut Rot" (sure some of you have had or heard of it).. But once 12 hits, I am okay to drink Mountain Dew til my teeth fall out...

I also know that If I ever eat dinner and something doesn't sit right with my stomach, I go straight up stairs and take a hot bath for about 5-10 mins, and my stomach is completely back to normal... If I don't take a hot bath, my stomachache will not go away....

If you have followed my Articles/Tutorials here at DV you know that I am big about paying ATTENTION TO DETAIL... Do you see how this all falls into place now?

3.) Soul : Some of you may not be big on this, which is fine by me, but getting connected with your spirit is another area of your life that can help you tremendously...

I guess this all started when I was a senior in high school and I was sitting in my poetry class ( I LOVE writing poems). I sat there at my desk and decided in an instant I was going to drop everything I believed in.. From God, Heaven, Hell, Aliens, Demons, Angels, whatever it may be.. I dropped it and stopped believing in it...

Why you may ask? Because I wanted my inner self to come up with the conclusion on "What is Real, and What Isn't". I didn't want my mind and spirit to be influenced by what was on TV, or what the next person was saying, or anything like that. I wanted to take a journey and find the answers I was looking for... Thus, it has shaped me into the person I am today, and I would not change it for a thing...

Now some of you maybe wondering, "How do I just drop everything I believe in and start fresh"?

In all honesty, it maybe to late. You maybe my age of 24 and the things you have learned and believed in are imprinted and aren't going anywhere.. But then again, that is the beauty of being you.. You yourself, can figure out a way to "LET GO" and start fresh...

I am not saying it is a must, but if you are at a crossroad in your life and you are having spiritual trouble, it may help you.. And sometimes it will lead you right back to where you were before.. At least then you will now you are in the right place....

Now how does everything I mentioned above have anything to do with Lucid Dreaming??? It's simple... It has everything to do about YOU!!

Your Mind, Your Body, Your Soul. How you treat those 3 will have a major effect on your outcome in Lucid Dreaming... If you TRUST yourself. If you RESPECT yourself, and if you are HONEST with yourself... It will make things a lot easier on yourself as far as everyday and Lucid Dreaming...

Forget about the stress of "Oh man I didn't have a lucid dream last night.." I am sorry, but thats the one thing that hold's everybody back, is downgrading themselves or getting frustrated because this person had an LD, and they didn't...

Don't worry about the other person... Concentrate on YOU...Find out who you truly are on the inside as a person, and things will come together easier then ever... "Let Go" and be Free from the world and the boundaries that are holding us back... Lucid Dreaming is all about your Imagination... There are No Boundaries!!!

I know I haven't been on here replying to many posts lately, but I am always bound to come back and start up again. I haven't had a Lucid Dream in a few weeks, but I am not stressing, because I know they will come around again.. That is the beauty of "Letting Go" and being Free... You have No worries... Just an Imagination... Waiting To Dream........

      Thank You For Reading,

Wow man, that was quite the post. I could never have guessed you had to deal with all these problems when you were younger (and I'm really glad things worked out for you in the end). I don't really have much to add, great post.

Very interesting read Spiritofthewolf thanks for sharing. I haven't had as troublesome youth as you have, but have lately been going to some kind of "transformation" - also regarding beliefs, getting in to shape (doing lots of running) and generally being healthier than before. This "transformation" have been gradually coming since becoming passionately interested in stuff as Out-of-body-experiences - Meditation - dream yoga and lucid dreaming. Regarding Lucid dreams I have been very disciplined in doing Reality checks and quickly got a decent LD-ratio - however I realised that I wouldn't like to spend my whole life reality checking every other moment - so instead I tried to find something that could combine my "well-being" with having lucid dreams as a side-effect.

That made me go into dreamyoga and meditation - "being in the now" is an incredible exercise (it is hard to maintain - so lets call it an exercise for now ; ))
which gives me so much more than hunting for the next LD. I stopped making RCs, but the increasing (still increasing) awareness and meditation before sleep and sometimes during the night (in bed) gives me LDs once aprox. once every forthnight.

I don't feel as if I'm doing hard work, but I'm enjoying the meditation and awareness-practise because the practices give me enjoyment themselves.

What I mean to say is I understand completely what you mean, when taking a "fuller" approach to LD's that just doing RC's and constantly evaluating your succes by last nights succes. That won't last a lifetime for to many persons - evolving your consciousness and health could very well - and you will have a much improved life in the daytime as well.

Blessed be for believing in yourself. Blessed are those who lead by example. Lo & behold them who have the fortune of seeing a spirit wolf under the blue moonlight.

      Thanks
