Try it for yourself and see. Everyone is different.
I smoked like everyday for a year and had maybe 2 dreams. Then i didn't for this past week and didn't have one except last night when I tried. Do i just suck at dreaming or could it be related?
For most people, smoking within a few hours of going to bed hurts recall, but it does vary quite a bit from person to person. Wait long enough and you'll see what exactly it does for you.
For me, smoking weed made it very difficult to have lucid dreams, or to even remember them. I've smoked and had some, but not many. When I don't smoke weed, I remember almost all of my dreams and can have lucid dreams relatively easily.
Some people use it to their advantage by quiting. When they quit, they now have a new dream sign (smoking weed) because they wouldn't do it in Waking world. I think that it lower chances of lucid dream while smoking though (can't be sure as I don't do drugs...)
Most people admit it hurts memory, dream recall, and lucid dreaming in general. A few will say that it actually helps. Not sure how that is but if they say it then it must be true.
i cant say about weed, but for the love of all that is good and holy, if you want to remember your dreams it is best to avoid any intoxicant, i thinking drinking actually is the worst as far as hurting dream recall, i know i have never woken up after drinking and remembered a single dream,
yeah marijuana completely destroy my dream recall, thats why i quit
I don't notice a biiiig difference. It good either way. I actually know a guy who lucid dreams everday just as a hobby, like even naps (he's a natural) and he just smokes giant splifs before naps. He's like: Well I like doing everything while high, why not dreaming?
It doesn't kill my recall but I usually find my dreams are more vivid (and therefore easier to become lucid) when I haven't smoked in a week or so.
This is how it works for me, If I smoke weed in a regular basis I gradually loose my dream recall.
BUt...
In some periods were I haven't smoked (2 or 3 months) , I usually have LDs the day I smoke again
I have smoked every day for 2 years. Doesn't effect my recall. If you are trying to remember all your dreams upon waking in the morning, then good luck. I suggest waking up periodically throughout the night. It is the best way to recall dreams.
Perhaps... If you aren't high when you are dreaming, of course. That makes for terrible recall.
