In any text about lucid induction, it always seems to be the case that one of the priorities in any LD should be to lengthen the time spent lucid.
Would it not be more effective when we experience our first few LDs to:
1) Centre yourself quickly
2) RC quickly
3) Increase clarity quickly
and
4) Wake yourself up?
I've seen it said that we may miss many LDs because we don't remember them by the morning. Surely waking ourselves up quickly is the best way to give us a quick confidence boost?
Of course, it all depends on how reliable the, "lie down, close your eyes and relax" method is for waking us.
