      Reclaiming My Lucidity

Hello everyone, I'd like to introduce myself, and my cause.

My name is Zach, and I go by the alias Eszeikial. I have joined these forums because I believe that my cause is similar to this communities collective interests.

I was born a lucid dreamer, and I loved it. from back as far as I can remember, untill I was 8, I had wonderous Lucid Dreams, and even when they weren't lucid they were still beautiful.

I took this skill for granted, and without my immediate knowledge of it, the skill began to slip away from me. I thought this was normal, that dreams slipped away as you became older. I went through 3 years with only an occasional dream.

One day at school, bored, I decided to spend some time on google, and I somehow ended up searching "control your own dreams" After doing some research, I realized that these dreams I once had was a skill, that must be practiced, and that I was a fool to dull this sense that was once natural to me.

I am now beggining anew. I have started increasing my dream recall, by writing down my dreams that I had the previous night, and so far I haven't noticed much, but I hope to begin having Lucid dreams, and I wont stop untill I do, and this time, it will be a skill that I will treasure.

Welcome to Dreamviews! Since you've had lucid dreams before, it shouldn't be terribly difficult to begin having them again. Starting a dream journal is the best start! As we get older, we lose sight of our dreams due to increasing demands from the world around us (the morning rush of getting ready for school overshadows our dreams, and eradicates recall). Dream journals let your mind know that you're interested in what's going on while you sleep (among countless other uses of dream journals, that is).

Welcome to Dreamviews! I was the same way you were when I was younger. When I found this site, I immediately was able to pick up lucid dreaming once again, so I have a good feeling you won't find much problem. Btw, my name is also Zack. Good Luck!

      Hey again,

just wanted to check in and say that my dreams have become more frequent, and i have had 2 lucid dreams.

so in my eyes, that is a major success for me.

The lucid dreams i have had have not really been entire dreams, i usually have a small amount of lucidity, before i shock myself out of my dream and wake up.

i have to work on staying lucid once i become lucid, when i was a child i was able to do this easily.
