that used to happen a lot as a kid to me i would confuse the sound of my alarm clock with the school bell |

I was just comming into a dream, when I saw a soccer ball come at me. I went to kick it, and my leg twitched in real life, and I woke up. I figured that I was slightly dreaming, but hadn't completely entered sleep paralysis yet. Has this happened to anyone else? |

That's fairly common. It's called a "hypnic jerk", because they seem to generally occur more during the hypnogogic state. |

It happens to me to. Its because SP hasnt fully took effect, and you have premature reactions. Do you sometimes have the feeling of falling backwards for a long time too?? |

It's funny how many times this same question has been asked over the years (by myself included when I first joined), but everyone calls it something different when they don't know what it is, so you can't even do a successful search for it. |

This happens to me all the time. Usually when i fall asleep for the first time at night. When it first started happening to me it was fairly shocking. |

Yeah I get this a lot. My ex girlfriend was really bad for it, I was frightened some nights that I would wake up with a black eye or something. |

it used to happen to me alot and still does sometimes !! normally i am walking along and step down a kirb by this time im kinda semi seeing images or the road im walking down then i step and boom my leg kicks out like i just miss-stepped a kirb haha i read up on it and from what i gathered it was from were the muscle's have not fully relaxed..and i do know that the most tension is carried in the jaw !! and to help your should massage the side's of the jaw muscles to release tension because when i dream i tend to grind my teeth i dont know why because when awake i cannot stand doing this !! but in sleep i do it so hard my teeth actually feel kinda aching and when i bite down when awake its painfull so i must be biting damn hard !! but now i do this i seem to keep lucidity more and not wake up with a painfull jaw/mouth from the nights ld attemps |

Dammit this happened to me twice in about a minute last night! I was back from a long day of paintball and I kept seeing my friends running towards me about 5 feet away just walking the trigger and I kept getting freaked out and trying to dodge and then waking myself up, it was very annoying and I felt stupid |
