      Did I almost enter SP?

First off I would like to say that I have not had any LD's yet and am not experienced with the WILD method or the feeling Sleep Paralysis....I have just not had this feeling before.

Last night I awoke at about 3AM after about 3 hours of sleep....I didn't plan on trying anything, but my cousin, who was in the same room, set his alarm accidentally for 3AM. When I woke, I was immediately wide awake, i rarely ever feel like this when I wake up early or in the morning. After staying awake for a while I decided to try a WILD.....So I layed down for a while and did not move......... I knew that my mind was still awake, and I started to get some urges to move my feet, and toes. I also had a strong urge to swallow. I fended off these urges and waited. I don't know how long I layed there, but I remember seeing bright white flashes. Soon after, I got this strong pressuring tingling feeling. To me it felt good, as if I were on a rollercoaster. I could feel my heart starting to race. My eyes also felt like they were spinning in circles. After about a minute of this, it began to go away. The spinning of my eyes slowed and my vision went pitch black. For some reason I then opened my eyes (which I'm guessing was my mistake) and I was still awake......am I on to something here, does anybody have any help.....tips would be greatly appreciated

      Thanks,
      OC3220

Yeah i think that you entered in SP...When i got into sleep paralysis i feel like i'm in a rollercoaster...Or falling from clouds...It feels good...But a bit scary...But it's easy to let this happen...

Sometimes i got the SP, but it fade don't matter how i let it happen...

But with me it only happen if i try to WILD on the first sleep of the night...

I think that in the next time if it fades away, you just could don't move to enter in SP again....

      I hope you'll get a lucid dream

You were definitely close to WILDing but you just have to stick with it. I would'nt say that this was SP though unless you felt paralyzed just because i think the falling sensations and the imagery are separate from SP. They can accompany SP but they arent one in the same. SP is just the body being completely numb and unable to move. The feelings you felt were important but not the same thing as sleep paralysis. I feel the same things every time i WILD and i almost always skip SP, so just try to focusing on the rollercoaster/falling feeling for as long as possible, and the more intense it gets, the closer you are to entering a lucid dream. You might fade out of it but just try to stay relaxed and get back in.

so are you saying that I'm supposed to maintain this feeling?.....How will I know when I've entered a dream?

Honestly i think its probably different for everyone. For me i maintain this feeling for as long as i can and eventually (pretty quickly most of the time) the feeling gets super intense and i float up out of my bed and im in my room but im in a dream (its hard for me to explain because theres not much of a transition that says "Im awake in my bed" and then "Now im in a dream" it kinda happens fluidly and you just have to experience it yourself.) Other times i will just pop into random dream from there and become lucid, or sometimes i will just fall asleep on accident and have a DILD.

OC, you will most likely not be lying in your bed when you enter a dream after a successful WILD. You will know when you have entered a dream. It is a very distinct feeling.

It sounds like you were close to succeeding with your WILD. When you start to get hypnagogic hallucinations like this, you know you are close. Don't worry if the hallucinations suddenly stop, or if you get startled awake. It is normal to bounce in and out of this state a few times. Just keep doing what you were doing, and you should quickly dip back into the sleepyrealm.

The goal is to keep yourself in this state until you are sure it is stable, and a dream is on the way. Either a dream will just appear on its own, or you will use an entry technique to create one for yourself.
