Studying LD help you out of coma?

Sorry if this has been asked before, but if you studied LD and are able to make it happen, if you ever went into a coma is it more likely you would wake up from it?

As far as I know no one has ever studied this or tried to find a correlation, so it is impossible to know the answer to this one. I think probably not, though.

If i remember, i read somewhere that people in coma don't dream...
So it's impossible to have a lucid dream...

      For sure...I don't know.

Well a person I was close with had a coma, and once woken up after 10 days told me it was like having a normal nightmare but not being able to wake up.

well, I once visited a guru in india who said that to bring anyone out of a coma (presumably anyone non-braindead), you have to put some sugar in their mouth and whisper a special mantra in their ear that I forgot.

anyhow if I'll ever be in a coma I'll test out the whole Lucidity helps you wake up thing and see if it works- worst case scenario I'll have an amazingly long and cool LD
TAKE DV members advice with caution! some have had zero or 1-2 LD's yet act like gurus
      TOTAL LD's (almost all DILD/MILD) =160!!
new goals: have more LD's than Shift[X]

i think that being in coma and lucid dreaming can't woke you up...
I think that could be like the movie WAKING LIFE...When the main character is dreaming, with some times of lucid dreams, and so much FUCKING FALSE AWAKENINGS (he can't woke up at all..Maybe he is in coma)

According to StarTrek Voyager Chakotay's people used a medicine wheel.Torres explained to the Doctor "The wheel represents both the universe outside and the universe inside our minds as well. They believe each is a reflection of the other. When a person is sleeping or on a vision quest it's said that his soul is walking the wheel. But if he's in a coma or near death it means that he's gotten lost. These stones are signposts to help point the way back."

Being lucid I guess would make you a little more comfortable in a coma at least.

Reading These Posts Made Me Think What If Being Dead Was Like A Coma In That You Could Not Wake Up But Were Somewhat Aware. Then I Thought That Perhaps Death Could Be Quite Enjoyable If You Could Ld Over And Over. Maybe That Could Be What Heaven Is. I Am Probably Way Off Base[as Usual] But It Just Came To Mind So Thoht I Would Share My Crazy Ass Thoughts.

Well, it is my understanding that, when you die, just as when you AP, a carbon copy of your consciousness travels through the planes on the next part of its journey. It is on these planes that you can manifest whatever you wish just as with LD's.

Thats why you should never fear death, it is only the next step on a loooong journey..

People don't just "wake up" from a coma, there's sleep in between. You can't have dreams in comatose state because that would contradict the definition.

A lot of people in coma's say they have dreams, which I believe it all depends how deep in a coma you are in.
