      Wierd False Awakening/OBE

Recently i've been lucid dreaming every night. It has not, however, been a very pleasent experience. Here's more or less what happens.

I realize i'm dreaming and try to start controlling my dream. I can't, so I just go outside and go visit people. Once I start to get too excited in my dream, I wake up. Now, when I wake up, I can't move, or can hardly move. I try as hard as I can to move and I am able to kind of pull away a little bit. Now i'm not sure if i'm actually awake, if i'm actually moving, and whether or not i'm moving my body or 'moving out of my body.'

Just wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences and what it was.

You did not have a false awakening. You're most likely still in sleep parlysis. It isn't uncommon for lucid dreamers to awaken and be in SP, escpecially with WILDing, because the whole theory behind lucid dreaming is that the mind stays awake while the body is asleep. If they body was not in sleep parlysis your body would become over excited by your dream and you would never get any rest.

If this happens again DON'T panic! It's nothing to be afraid of, just think of it as extra resting time. Just try to go back to sleep and relax. Your body isn't going to wake up until it needs to or is woken by someone else.

As for the OBE, I'm not sure. It's possible that you could be lifting your 'astral self' out of your body, especially if you're still in parlysis. Experiment with it I guess, see what happens.

You can also use SP to try and WILD. It should be easier since your body is already asleep. If you don't already, try it out!

Hope I helped with my ridiculously long message

Its hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep
Because everything is never as it seems...

Yep, sleep paralysis is a safety mechanism so you don;t injure yourself while you sleep.

Sometimes if fucks up in one extreme or the other. I almost broke my toe kicking the wall in a dream where I was playing soccer. At the other end of the spectrum, sometime you wake and still can't move.
