right, I've been doing something in addition to my regular techniques- BEFORE going to sleep I drew either a large letter L or "LD" in my DJ and decorated it with some doodling, making it a sort of "offering" to whatever to help me LD, making it sort of like an order "the L is here which means I should LD" - when drawing- draw with intent

maybe it's weird, I dunno- but helps me with motivation
Please note this is a supplementary technique and is not a technique on it's own, however out of the 4 random days that I drew it I ended up having LD's on 2 of those days- not too shabby 
it's a form of MILD I think- I also find constantly repeating mantras, say while taking a walk really helps as opposed to just the night
