      Taking A Break

      Hello everyone,

Over the past 8-10 months, I have lost my ability to have steady lucid dreams (more than 1 per month.) I do not do RC's anymore, I have lost almost all motivation. I tried to get it back, and failed. The only thing I do now is write in my DJ (mainly because I can't stop from routine.) Even that is half-hearted, and I certainly don't wake up in the middle of the night to write them down.

Should I take a break from lucid dreaming, and then maybe pick it up later with renewed passion? Or should I keep going despite my lack of motivation? If I take a break now, I'm afraid it will be permanent.

Before I offer any advice I'd ask what it is that used to appeal to you about LDing and what it is that no longer does? I think this is a common problem, one that I certainly had.

I took a long break from LDing just because I was busy with other things in life. During that time I had a few DILDs though and they were even more awesome because they were a novelty at just once every couple of months. Eventually I missed being able to do anything I wanted and to try things I couldn't in waking life and I was drawn back to it with a renewed passion. Look inside yourself and see if it's something you want to continue.

Ask yourself if you really want it, and set your goals from there. Good luck.
