Sounds like you could have. I've had this happen before. My two hypotheses are that you are either experiencing strong hypnagogics and just reacting to them, which causes your body to move, or that you have lightly entered an NREM dream but moved so aggressively so quickly into it that your non-paralyzed (remember, REM atonia only occurs during REM sleep) body reacted.

At least you didn't give yourself a welt
