      getting to sleep

      Many times I come home tired from work and nearly doze off on the couch watching the tube and when I end up going to bed wanting to go to sleep, I am wide awake and not a bit sleepy. I hate that. What can I do

      oh man i know exactly what you mean. if you drink a lot of soda or something, maybe you should cut back on the caffeine. thats all ive thought of, but more advice would be appreciated.

      No I dont meditate.....not yet anyway! As for caffiene, I dont drink anything with caffiene in it after about 9:00 am. This happens most of the time when some big event is coming up. I have a concert I have to conduct tonight and that has been on my mind all week. It'll be over tonight and I'm looking at two weeks of r&r coming up starting tomorrow!

      Here's what I do, I exercise or do anything to get me tired then I take some Tylenol PM. Sometimes I don't even have to exercise. As long as you don't develop a dependency you'll be fine.
      A home recipe that I've never used, but supposedly works is to drink some cilantro tea. Watchout though, I've heard you end up falling asleep for about 12 hours.

      um...how about don't watch tv and get drowzy. sure maybe you're tired, but if you hate it SO MUCH, there are many better things to do besides watch tv. read, do some work around the house or something until it's time to go to bed...you'll get stuff done, plus get your sleep.

      Prophetian, I think you are right about thr exercise thing. I usually sleep really well on Tuesday and Thursday nights, cuz that is Tae Kwon Do night. I come home exhausted and sometimes bruised up a little, but I sure sleep good. I need to get more exercise. I will take your advise!

      Paperdoll, sometimes even when I dont watch TV I get restless as soon as my head hits the pillow. It comes and go though. Tomorrow afternoon marks the beginning of a two week vacation for me. I really need to work around the house. Its a pig pen right now. So is my office! Paperdoll, I heard a rumour that you post a lot Anyway, the big Christmas concert is over and that should get rid of a lot of the stress! I had to conduct four groups tonight. Organizing all that is an administrative nightmare! VACATION IS AROUND THE CORNER YEEEE HAAAAW!

      Hey redneck, last night I couldn't go to sleep and I remembered telling you about the cilantro tea and let me tell you something.. DON'T DO IT!!!
      Whoever said you fall asleep for 12 hours was right, personally I slept 14!!!! Thank God I'm on vacation!
