Concentrate on recall and maintain a dream journal.
The more you are fully aware of your ordinary dreams, the more likely you are to become lucid.

When you try MILD, do so after WBTB. Don't just repeat the mantra but visualise.
Make sure this is the last thing on your mind as you fall asleep.

When ever I have a proper attempt at MILD it works.
When it doesn't work, I know myself I've been a bit lazy.

Lastly, just enjoy your dreams. I now look forward to bed every night, wondering what I'm going to see. Even if I never had another Lucid I would still make the effort.
Last night I saw a massive UFO hovering over my town, like V or Independence day.
      It was really cool.
      Lucid Dreams:-
      MILD/DILD: 79
      WILD: 13
      DEILD:13
      (TOTAL: 108 )

Just don't let your break turn permanent. Leave your dream journal somewhere obvious, so you will be tempted to read through it and remember all the fun possibilities.

DreamingDragon, I know how you feel.I haven't had an LD for quite some time and I never developed any great skill for it. However, I have continued to enjoy the non-lucid dreams that I have and occasionally I am able to exert influence if not control my dreams. It doesn't happen very often, but flying in a non-LD is almost as good as flying in an LD. Enjoy your non-lucids, but keep working towards lucidity. All the advice has been good so far and when you finish with your break, I wish you speedy success

      Enjoy the ride!

Blimey, your normal dreams must be pretty vivid if you think that.

I said almost. It depends on the dream

I haven't flown successfully in years until last night! It was awesome and I wish it had lasted longer.

Seriously, stop trying to force it. I found that once I was casual about the whole thing, they started comming through thick and fast.
