Am I close Yet?? Pic included

Okay so I have still been having vivid dreams, but I just now tried to have an LD in the morning. I think I was very close, or maybe even had one kinda, but thats for you to tell me. heres what happened:

I was lying in bed and my alarm went off at around 7:30. i got up turned it off and went back to sleep lying on my back which is uncomfortable for me. I kept myself awake and then everything went black and I felt the tell tale shivers followed by an immediate suction feeling. I was being sucked into my bed and then I fell a few feet into blackness I was aware of what was happening and tried the spinning trick. I was still in blackness. Then I saw the blackness open up into what looked like a sunrise or sunset, there was no way to know for sure. I thought to myself yes I did it, I was very excited even though the dream, if you could even call it that, was barely a few moments and consisted of the aforementioned scene. then I though of different colors going onto the scene and the colors of the scene began to change rapidly and I felt even more success, then I think my sub conscience just took control because I was so satisfied with myself. i went into another short but very vivid dream that was not lucid, but it was still very vivid. Here is a picture of what I saw. I did it in photoshop, but It is almost exactly what i saw in my dream.

Here Is my question, How do I get into a dream that is fully materialized and things actually happen? Also was what I had even a lucid dream, was it even a dream? It couldn't have been more than twenty seconds long, but I was aware of what was going on and even influenced the colors of the scene.

That looks exactly like the flashing image right before the lucid dream in this video:

The dreamworld should be behind that

You know, once I had either a false awakening, sleep paralysis, or a hallucination because of my medication, and I was laying on my back looking at my window. The blinds were up, and something just like that was outside floating in the sky, I called it a supernova and thought the world was going to end before I came back to reality, where my blinds were down

If your goal is to WILD I'd say this sounds very very close!

Sorry, you weren't quite lucid. That first part is what is called Hypnagogic Imagery. It's the in between stage of waking and sleep.
It's not quite a dream because you don't have a dream body, and are only an observer.

Actual dreaming begins the moment you have a dream body. As you're in the HI stage, you will be aware of your real body, but should also be able to feel dream limbs you can move around. I like to tear free of my physical body by swinging my arms and legs around. Many people have success with "rolling out" of their physical bodies.

I'm impressed you were able to change the colors like that. Controlling HI is a difficult thing to do. It's a subtle, indirect kind of control that's difficult to put into words.

      Thumbs up

So close. The exact same thing happened to me, except I saw a classroom. I then "woke up" (false awakening) In a room with a bunch of my friends, and proceeded to teach them about lucid dreaming ! Just keep trying!

Damn, The exact same thing happened again this morning!!! I was having trouble falling back to sleep, then I guess I drifted off for a moment, I was riding a motorcycle in a dense forrest, I somehow ejected myself off and fell into blackness. I dont know how, but that woke me up enough so that I was fully aware again. I saw all black, but then a white segmented line appeared that looked like it was going to open up into a sky, I was suprised at how real it looked (dont mind the 2 second sketch). But then I woke up, no dream, nothing. What am I doing wrong anyone else experience this?!?! this is like the third time in a week this has happened. I am trying really hard, but I am yet to have an LD. Anyone have any advice, I just dont know what Im doing wrong.

I don't have any tips for you, but it seems to me like you're achieving astral projection (if you believe in that stuff). This is why you may be astral projecting:

      • you slipped in and out of sleep, one of astral projections easiest inductions

      • you felt vibrations, which happen as your physical body and astral body are separated

      • you saw a space-ish scene the first (and maybe second) time, and the word Astral refers to the cosmos

I'd say that you should try to be as unexcited as possible and ride it out, next time you're lucid when awakening you could try for a DEILD?
I've had a similar experience before right back when I first started to lucid dream, but instead of line segments it was a circular room with a reflective ceiling, I'm pretty sure it was just hypnagogia though because I wasn't paralyzed and it was over in seconds.

Back on topic... you might have gone into a FA after the second dream? and if you want a fully materialized dream it might just be a matter of waiting the images out as I suspect them of just being hypnagogic hallucinations and not an actual dream.

overall I think the main thing you need to work on is excitement, if not contained it probably will destroy a dream in seconds, anyways good luck in the future with WILDing.

yea this morning something happened that scared the hell out of me, I kinda started feeling tingly. then I saw my arm twisting and flopping around violently while hearing a swooshing sound. I actually fought the sleep paralysis that was coming over me and woke myself up. I dont know why it was so disturbing to see my arm flipping and twisting around. I think it had alot to do with the fact
I knew it was not possible for my arm to be moving because it was at my side and i was "sleeping" kinda. I think subconsciously and even a little consciously I am afraid of LDing I cant quite get over it.

      Haha.

"And I know for sure that was not what happened, because it does not exist."

      Wonderful.

Well, I belive in AP so I'd say that's what it was. But you can't really be doing something you have no belief in, so I'd guess you're quite close to a lucid dream.

      Just keep trying.
