will just looking at the hand be enough or is either looking at it then away and then back at it or attempting to dismember it or counting fingers a must? |

Total lucids: 22 DILD(20) DEILD(1) semi lucid (6) objectives: attain perfect clarity [X] Grow a controllable tail [3/5] Fly[X] waterbend[ ] meet my dream guide[ ] change dreamscape[ ] perform a perfect Kamehameha wave[1/2] become my fursona [ ]
Trying all of them would be ideal. Those are all fairly popular. Although hand checks are not my favorite reality check, they have gotten me lucid several times. |

Counting fingers is not a must in my experience. In dreams I just notice my hand looks different. Sometimes I know why (It has less or more fingers) other times I don't but it just looks different anyway (I probably just don't spend enough time to notice why). |

I just count my fingers, I always have 6 fingers on each hand. This is one of my favorite RC's, I always pair it with the nose pinch RC in order to reducethe risk of it failing. |

Use the hybrid hand check. You rub both hands together creating the illusion that you have 10 fingers moving them randomely in and out of sync. It prolongs the dream and more than likely the other 5 fingers will remain on one hand. It's not a discreet check so you'd have to find a secluded spot to do it. |
