      Social Events and Lucid Dreams

I've had two lucid dreams in the past week or so. They have both been on early weekend mornings, and each have occured the day after some kind of social event late into the night.

Those two nights I've been sooo tired by around midnight. That's strange for me, as usually I'm not that tired that early. I've been known to go a week getting only 3 hours of sleep each night (morning). I also don't usually hang out with people too often (or even get out of my house at night too often).

Another thing about me is that I sleep very late on weekends usually. But those two days, I found myself getting out of bed before noon! This could be explained by the fact that I didn't stay up until 5am those two night-befores. Another thing that may explain the lucidity is that I've had I think the best dream recall those two mornings than I ever usually have had.

So I've come to the concusion that when I'm around people and physically active at night, I get very tired. And when I'm tired, I get better sleep, which means good recall, which in turn guarantees a better chance at realizing "hey, I'm dreaming!"

OK, I'm done. Can anybody back me up? Maybe this means that being physically and socially active for hours before falling asleep increases dream recall, therefore increasing luciness!

Maybe the excitement (keyed up state) of the night before helped you to be more focused and in the moment that usual, so that when you dreamed you were more likely to be aware -- thus the vivid and lucid dreams?

I agree that being exhaused and keyed up for hours before bed leads to me haveing some wicked awesome dream recall, vividness, and cool LDs.

Id be interested to hear if anyone else agrees but - When we do something that is not something that we normally do, we save energy, and in order to LD we need a fair amount of energy - the more energy the longer the LD. So if we make a habit of breaking habits along with staying calm and happy we start to store energy and our LDs develop.

It makes sense to me. Especially if you normally do something like reading, watching TV, or playing video games before sleep.

When I am around people, socially, I am very aware of both myself, my environment, and the people around me. When I am doing something like reading, I lose all awareness of myself, and get completely immersed in the imaginary world. Maybe this increased awareness (maybe even nervousness) has something to do with it?

Maybe it's just a coincidence. But last night I hung out with my step siblings and cousin until very late at night, and I had another lucid dream this morning (almost did the task of the month). Great thoughts, everyone.

Hm, this seems to happen to me too. Whenever I go to some big social event or something I have higher recall. (I haven't had enough LD's to say it directly effects mine) But I did notice that it only happened if I had a good time.

Meh I don't have too much of an opinion on this, but I'll have to keep my eyes open for this. I've sometimes noticed since I moved that social events are dream signs for seeing old friends.
