Well the only technique to do it at night without waking up as far as im concerned is DILD (dream induced lucid dream) If you wanna learn how to LD first you have to develope a farily good dream recall. I would say between 2-3 dreams a night would suffice. Next you need to pick out dream signs, or reoccruing elements in your dreams (ex. person, place, thing) Once you learn to recongize those, you can become lucid in a dream when you see then in your dreams. Night time is always better, when you can sleep for longer periods of time. And that all depends on your determination and confidence in yourself. The more you believe you can do it, the better chance you have of achieving your goal.
