      guilty conscience

I always feel guilty trying to have sex with a dream character. In fact, I usually wake up when I try to, or during. Anyone else have any views on this?

Whenever I have sexual dreams, I also feel guilty -especially right after waking. They often involve seduction and sometimes I am cautious or wary of deception anytime someone advances to try to get close to me(sexual or not) The reason for that, though, is that often times many "dream characters" try to seduce me or get me to open an emotional "door" -then or morph into vampire-zombie like creatures which viciously attack me as I become increasingly aware of their true nature... Some people would read all kinds of psycho-sexual jibber, but these types of attacks are common in many of my dreams (most of which are not sexual). Anyway, I have all kinds of guilt because I believe that lust (whether in dreams or otherwise) is sinful. To me things like this are an indication of our utter depravity and self-seeking sin nature. I am learning to deal with it -mostly through lots of prayer and others who share similar experiences (non-LDers have lots of sexual dreams and seem to remember them better than others). I don't think lucid sex is a "horrible thing." I think it is an inevitable thing, but that does not mean I should indulge in it... With heightened awareness (during sleep), I think there is also a heightened level of responsibility for ones actions -even "Dream actions."

I agree... I think that your actions do have reprocussions in dream or not, I guess thats kinda the nice thing about the way I dream =) I cannot control the people in my dreams, to do my bidding, unless they agree upon it whenever I have sex in dream its consentual.

      Interesting.

I say let go of your guilt and be a promiscuous mass-murderer in your dreams if it suits you. There's no point in tormenting yourself over what biology has designed you for - better to vent there than in real life. Then again, my last couple of lucid or semi-lucid dreams have been quite dull.

its all up to you though, what you want to do or not to do...so if your having really guilty feelings, have lucid sex with your girlfriend or somethign, that way it wouldnt be so bad...or something of the like...

but again, it all depends on what you find interesting, and my last lucid dream was dull, and i would have rather blown something up than it had been that dull.

This is my very first post, I registered about 2 minutes ago. I hope to learn something from you guys/gals.
I registered to comment on how profound your statement is.
"now that u r Lucid, u r now responsible for your actions."
That gave me goose bumps to think that quite possibly, we would be held accountable for our thought and actions because we some degree of control of them. It's like the Garden of Eden all over again. We become self aware so God holds us to our actions and decisions. Becoming lucid is the equivelant of "the forbidden fruit". To actively become lucid is taking a bite from the fruit and we are no longer innocent. Just a thought. I don't know how to be lucid (but I have doone it on accident a couple of times) I have the desire to try this and see if it can help me in life. But really, what am I getting myself into on a theologiacl standpoint?

You make an excellant analogy with your forbidden fruit example, I'm going to have to study on that one for a while!

      sweetness

Sonny, a huge WELCOME and a huger hi-5 for such an awesome first entry. Rad thoughts, man. Here's a little coincidence. I'm working on directing a play next month called, "The Creation of the World and Other Business" by Arthur Miller. Not a well known play of his. It's the whole Adam and Eve, Cain, Abel, God and Lucifer story from Genesis. Really cool show. I recommend reading it if you can ever find a copy. here's the really cool tie in - my whole concept for the way I want to direct it is "Existance is God's Dream". And then there's the whole dream within a dream, etc. So I find it all too interesting that you brought that up. We'll definately talk some theology on here. 8)

      Re: sweetness

Thanx 42. Someone spoke to me about LD a few months ago and it popped into my head again today. I found this site and decided to read it and became instantly enthralled. What prompted me to register is the quote I mentioned earlier. I love the questions this practice brings up and I'm quite interested in using LD as a tool free up some of the excess baggage I carry around in my own head. I believe I found something that truly challenges the mind in practice as well as finding out things about myself.
