Have you ever been to the beach all day and get hit by the waves a lot? and then later on, when your in bed with your eyes closed, you feel like the waves are hitting you? that's probably what it was, except in a different form. A few times I've been daydreaming about jumping or falling, and i jump in my bed or move my arm to help brace myself.. Sometimes i guess your mind just gets caught up in a daydream... hope i helped.. |

It happens to me as well. It happens when you are almost asleep and you are not in SP yet. Your mind does something like it would in a dream, and since you aren't in SP, you're body does it. At least thats what I think |

It has happened to me, most often when i'm im falling asleep thinking about stairs, sometiems i'll jerk back awake and then feel like I missed a step. |

That's called a hypnic jerk. It occurs usually with hypnagognic imagery, making it seem like you were in a dream that you suddenly awoke from. It's sort of the body's way of 'shaking it out' before sleep, getting rid of excess muscle stress. It can be a pain though if you are already relaxed and on your way to sleep! |
