      Anyone else feel this way?

It seems that ever since I started trying to have lucid dreams, even if I dont succeed, just the fact that I have something to focus and concentrate on while falling asleep, it seems to make falling asleep so much easier.
Ive only had one lucid dream thus far (purely due to the fact its the summer and im rarely sober when I go to sleep, and being high or drunk pretty much kills any chance of LDing for me), but just the fact that Im trying to LD every night makes going to sleep fun. It makes going to sleep at night exciting even

Ah, yes. Lucid dreams is the main reason why I love sleep. My parents have told me that they never had any problems with getting me to bed at the right time, when I was growing up. Ever.

Yes, before I learned about lucid dreaming, going to sleep was purely routine and boring. Now, I know that every night I will have dreams, and I'm excited to find out what they are. Also, I have a chance at LD's every night, so that keeps me excited. I just love to know that I can have fun 24 hours a day.

Like I once read somewhere (likely here), you sleep for 6 years of your life, why waste it snoring and having normal dreams about nonsensical things? Dreams are part of our daily speech, i.e. "The girl of my dreams", yet barely anyone really stops to think of the possibilities of LDing.

6 years? How come I read other places where they say 1/4 of your life you spend sleeping and than somewhere else I'll read you sleep 6 years or something smaller?? I'm confused :S

So sorry, yes you're right. I was confused, it's 6 years we spend dreaming. A quarter of your life sleeping, as you said. Sorry, and thanks for pointing it out.

6 years? It's actually closer to a fourth to a third of your entire lifespan, which is all the more reason to put that time to use.

      EDIT: n/m

I used to dread going to bed. I have sleep apnia, and have to use a BiPap machine to keep the apnia at bay. Before getting the apnia diagnosed, sleep was a struggle, and when I did sleep, I wasn't refreshed and rarely could remember dreaming. My REM cycles were pretty wacked. The past few years have been better and restful, but since my decision to work on lucidity, and especially since my first LD (DILD) I find myself thinking throughout the day about what I might dream that night, and by bedtime, I'm excited and can't wait to get to sleep. It's way different and so much better now.

Unfortunately no. I always think, ok, I should fall asleep at about this time so that my timer will wake me up in REM so I can do a Wild. Then I can never fall asleep, then I have to change the timer and so on.
