Has anyone ever had a daydream with their eyes open, and after you come back to reality, the object you were staring at the whole time reminds you of exactly everything that happened in the daydream.
Its a very strange thing to happen. Hard to explain.
Like a mental subconcious placeholder in your daydream memory.
I do it at will but I don't stare at it, I use it in the daydream. It gives the daydream more substance and stability.Quote:

I don't recall that ever happening to me. Usually if I catch myself daydreaming, I intuitively back track my thoughts (this helps with dream recall, as well).
I've heard that where you stare correlates to certain cognitive functions, though. Have you ever seen someone look up for a history fact? Or Right and down as they solve a math problem? It's unique to each person, though some are more common.

Very good observation. This is why, I believe, staring at the entopic lights before sleep causes spontaneous lucidity later on that night. If you are able to fully grab your feelings on the connection you just have discovered, let's say by contemplating on this connection or just feeling it, you will have a better chance at this exercise. The most important thing however is to go back to the light patterns every time you catch up on yourself that your thoughts have drifted away. Sometimes, right after coming out from a brief dream or hypnagog vision, you will see a luminous blob at the center of your vision field slowly fading away. A very good sign!
