No but it's one of my longtime lucid plans to have a conversation with him or her (or it). I don't see how that falls under the category of schizophrenia. That usually involves hallucinations/voices/disorganized thought in the waking world so I don't see a connection between that and talking to someone in a dream. Or is it the fact that there seems to be a 'relationship'?

Sounds to me like an awsome experiance. I can't see it being a problem because its within a dream.
This is my first time reading of a dream guide, now I can't wait to find my own guide.

Yeah it just seems a little weird, I've heard people say that 'dream guides' are manifestations of our subconscious - developing a relationship with one is like conversing with and treating a part of yourself as a separate entity. I dunno, maybe it is just strange to me.

If having a dream guide means schizophrenia.
Then lucid dreaming, and dreaming in itself must be pure fucking insanity.

I wouldnt call it schizophrenia, I'd just call it talking to yourself in the strictest sense.

Dream guides are just like any other dream character, only they know more about you than you do. Think about it, your subconscious has been with you your entire life, and has seen everything you've seen, experienced everything you've experienced, so it knows you quite well. Talking to your subconscious in a dream is a way to better understand yourself and find out how you really feel about certain things that you may be confused about. If talking to your subconscious as a DC is schizophrenia, then what would talking to the hundreds of other DCs in a dream be considered?

I consider this a fascinating subject and I hope to meet mine someday.First I need to have more lucid dreams.=/

I'm still wishing I HAD a dream guide.

Once I asked a regular DC to go get my dream guide. The DC disappears behind a house and reappears with an elf like man. The DC presents to me, my dream guide!! He had a mean and cocky expression. I asked him if he would guide me to the astral realm since I was curious about astral projection at the time. Instead he led me to random bedrooms, and when he talked, he wouldn't look at me face to face. As if hiding something from me. I got pissed and realized he wasn't leading me anywhere. Actually it felt like, if anything, he was leading me AWAY from where I wanted to go - that jerk!!

I told him to beat it and asked the dream directly to take me to the astral - which created a WILD within the dream. The first sensation was that of falling back into my bed, the next rapid WILD sensory - zooming upwards in tunnel until everything went black. When I opened my eyes I was in a new dream twice as vivid.

Since then, I've had trust issues with 'dream guides'
