If lucid dreaming could be used to make you better at sports, it would be common knowledge. |

Has anyone used lucid dreaming for sporting enhancement? What with visualisation so commonly practiced nowadays before playing a sport, surely lucid dreaming could be used to some capacity? Any examples from anyone? |

But lucid dreaming isn't common knowledge and so would not be widely used for sport enhancement. Just posing a question that interests me. |

well, sometimes I have sport dreams... Funny thing is : I cheat and use all kinds of telekinesis and superpowers to make it more fun |
|
I've played sports all my life and have had many many sports dreams. Funny though, especially in those dreams involving soccer, I am usually a lot slower and play like CRAP in my dreams. It's quite frustrating. It would be interesting to have an LD involving sports...I've never thought to try it. |

Sounds like fun Ev, but in your opinion do you think you could be practiced enough in the art of lucid dreaming to use it to your advantage in sport. Have read that lucid dreaming can be used in other ways e.g preparing for a speech (say for someone who has a fear of making speeches) |

You can use lucid dream to get better at anything. Music, sports, people skills. Lucid dreaming is often used for more than jsut flying around. |

Fair shout Gameover. How have you used them then my friend, any examples? |
|
i fail to see how it could help, cant make you fitter and the visualization?you can do that just as well awake. what your suggesting is just plain stupid,i mean lucid dreaming wont help you get stronger,ok maybe you could rerun tactics in your mind but nothing really that would aid you in sport short of thinking/enacting it,which would do nothing for you. |

You'd be amazed. Ive used dreaming to help me play the trumpet(Ive played for 10 years). One night I played a mad solo in my dream, where every note was perfect, and I could tell as it happened. When I woke up I was able to re-create a section of it. |

Don't think the suggestion is plain stupid. In sports such as golf, snooker and even free-kick taking in football visualisation is used. Obviously it won't make you fitter. Is said lucid dreaming is the ultimate virtual reality tool, so if visualisation is used in sport then why not use LD's for sporting gain? If you see (in your minds eye) a shot go in the goal, or a ball go in a pocket or a hole enough times and it you who has done it then it may help when you come to do the real thing. It has worked as suggested by gameover in the area of music. |

I think lucid dreaming can help u in sports. u can practice techniques or try out new moves or ideas. Ive had some dreams about wrestling matches, and i think if i could remember them well enough they would help me. |

In Exploring the World of Lucid Deaming, LaBerge talks at length about lucid dreaming helping with sports. |
