Thread: Brilliant but stupid ideas

Do you ever come up with this brilliant idea in a dream, only to realise that it was incredibly stupid after you wake up? For example, from my dream journal:

I saw a sign with some German word on it. I noticed that the word was a compound word made from a word I can't remember and the word "semin", which I read in my head as "semen". I went through a door to the right and saw one of my maths teachers. I suddenly thought of this amazing idea do to with the compound word that she might be interested in, so as I walked with her up a flight of stairs, out the building and down a grassy hill, I explained to her this phenomenal thought: "You know that word outside? For example, take the word... 'officestaff'. It's a compound word made of the words 'office' and 'staff'. But what if the word 'staff' had a different meaning than what you expect it to be?" What came to my mind at this point was a magic staff.

Have you ever had a brilliant yet dumb idea in a dream?

I can't think of any examples off of the top of my head, but the answer is absolutely. I'll have to go through my DJ and find some.

(I've even had some in real life... I usually think on them for a while before telling anyone, though, and then realize before it's too late just how terrible they are.)

Oh, yes I have. I had one dream a while ago where I realized I was dreaming, and I decided I was going to teach all the other DC's how to lucid dream. They were really happy when they also realized they were dreaming. It was a little bit of a waste of a dream though.

LOL, I've had ideas for LDing from dreams that were ideas when I piece them together when I wake up. Btw how's your pony dreaming going on? Have you tried that suggestion I told you?....

I also often waste entire dreams trying to teach DVS how to do it.

The thing where I have to draw a heart on my hand? Sadly not. I'm thinking of other things to do when lucid at the moment, something along the lines of Iron Man.

I'll discover my pony persona someday.

Often, when a dream character asks if I remember him/her, I'll say yes, even if it's the first time we've met. It's as if my brain sends a signal of familiarity, and I am compelled to comply.

lol. i always share those thoughts and sometimes i get into intereting conversations......or most often i am scorned.

My first LD: I jumped off my roof. Twice. Then the Grand Canyon. Then the Sphinx. I could have done alot better than that.
