      Dream and Matrix

In the matrix neo could do whatever he wanted because he knew it didn't exist and his mind was fully convinced that nothing was real and it rejected the code. In dreams we can stick our hand through glass or go flying because we know that the world only exists in our mind and we are so sure of it. Some people don't have the confidence to do certain things. They don't themselves and then what they do doesn't work. I wonder if we truly believe beyond a shadow of a doubt, that we can do anything in the real world, then we could do it. Our physical bodies are bound by all these laws that set up barriers, but if we could raise our minds past them do you think that we could go flying or walk through walls. If we truly know that nothing exist and that anything is possible without a single doubt, like we do in our dreams, could we "override" the worlds physical laws. One example, What about the accounts of people being able to bend spoons with there mindsor various other mysterious talents. Are they only breaching the surface? If you believe you can do it than you can? just some thoughts please give me yours...

I've often considered this too, but then thought: what about people on certain drugs which give them delusions? There are accounts of people jumping off buildings because they "know" they can fly, only to land on the ground in a very unsuccessful manner.
Still, I'm not completely convinced that it's impossible...

its an interesting idea, but even if it was true it would be very hard to really beleive that u could do stuff like that in real life. I think people would always have some doubt.
what if someone thought they were dreaming when they were actually awake, then mabey they would beleive they could do anything and it might work.

Maybe the people on drugs who jumped really did fly away but because we're strong believers in the code, we cant see that. All we see is a druggie falling to his death....or not? I dont know. Ive often thought about just this, even for the past few days Ive been thinking about it. But somehow I doubt it....but maybe thats whats holding me back?

another thing I remember is about this weightlifter. I don't really know much about that so I'm going to make up weights. This weightlifter could lifted 700 pounds and he couldn't really do anymore than that, and his trainer kept working him to get him stronger. Then one day his trainer gave him and 800 pound weight and said it was 700 pounds the lifter lifted it like it was just 700. Mind over matter

mind over matter definately. Is that a true stoy? Thats incredible. sounds incrdibly dangerous too if you ask me.

Heres my take on the relevancy of the Matrix in our world. I think that the only limits we ever reach are the ones we put on ourselves. I think if we were at 100% we would not nessicarily fly around, but wed be able to jump higher, be stronger, and do anything better, than anyone else. And I think the only thing holding us back from this is ourselves. Our fear. I bet if 10 250 pound angry men surrounded me, and if I sudeny; tapped into my fullest potentiol, didnt hold anything back and just went all out, I could take em(and I weigh 145), by dircting 100% of my energy and submerging myself in the one holy moment. Ive done several smaller tests before, in smaller ways, so as fear would not be an issue, and Ive amazed myself. Not sure if thats proof of anything though.

One small example..I was going for a walk with my girl in So. Cal. and I had finished a drink form a glass bottle. I saw a garbage can, on concrete, about 100 feet away. I instantly dropped ever feeling of reserve and fear and launched the bottle very, very high in the air, and in the direction of the can, and after it peaked quite high, it bgan to free fall right into the garbage can. My girlfriend was kinda freaked out by it, and thought it was amazing. First she thoguht I was crazy for suddenly launching a bottle into the air and then more amazed that it actually went in. Obviously this is such a small scale example, but from my own experience with things like this, whenever I do something and dont "try" to do it. When I jsut do it without the thought that it wont work, it seems to work. I swear to you Yoda was right. There is no try. You chose to do everyhting in some subconcious way. Ok...Im done with this rant

I've had moments like that too, gameover. They sometimes involve tossing things because I know I'll hit my target, just like your example. Another thing that's happened often is when I'm playing a game of cards and I just know what a card is going to be before it's flipped over. Unfortunately I can't do this at will.. it just happens sometimes.

What is 'real'? How do you define 'real'? You 'think' things are real and therefore your mind makes it real. If real is what you can feel, smell, taste and see, then 'real' is simply electrical signals interpreted by your brain. Unfortunately, no one can be told what the reality is- you have to see it for yourself. It seems that we've been living two lives. One life, we're our 'dream-selves', not held by any boundaries, but that of our imagination. The other life is lived in reality, we have boundaries, but only because our minds have become accustomed to what everyone else has told us while growing up- "That's impossible." "You can't do that." We've all heard it. One of these lives has a future, and one of them does not.

It's all up to you. No one can tell you what is 'real' and what is a 'dream', simply because, there is no essential way of defining these terms. You believe what you want. In the end your judgements will ultimately affect only one person- you.
It's only beyond the gate that we realize what our dreams really are . . .

Sometimes I can tap into this too. Every once and a while I'll have what I call these "impulses" where I just know something. I used to play basketball, and sometimes I get this feeling right before I'd shoot that I'd know I'd make a three pointer... or make a basket, or playing racquetball I know I'd get a kill. But are these tapping into something that we know or our confidence to do something?
