Thread: Lucid dream video games

Have any of you ever played a video game while lucid? I am very curious as to what that would be like, and the main reason I bring this up is to hopefully incite somebody to try this. I won't be trying this as I have other things to do in my not-too-frequent ld's.

I've played video games a few times before in my dreamsk, but it didn't really work like in real life, or at all. I think it was my mind just correlating things like I was playing a video game. I mean, there was a big box and a monitor and a joystick, but I don't think I was really "playing" like you are talking about

as far as video games go in my dreams it seems like I'm always watching someone else play the game. Or I'll have the game but I always wake up before I can play it. And by "The game" I mean Fable.

I've played one...xD......It was a mix between super mario 3 and sonic for sega genisis.......xD

I remember playing *a lot* of games in a dream.
Memories of that are very hazy tho It's like a mix between game/illusion and reality.

I may perceive myself sitting at the computer, and being in the game at teh same time... :/

I've played computer/video games being non-lucid, but not lately and never while lucid. That would be very interesting experiement to do while lucid, but right now I'm concentrating on increasing my flying height and increasing my five senses

I had a bad experience with this. It was christmas and I just got Tony Hawk Underground. I might have played it too much and one night I slept very lightly with dreams of playing it (Hawaii level.) Every two hours on the hour I would wake up and puke from what I believe to be nausea from the dream (which I remembered having over again each time.) I puked a total of around five times that night.

The only time I "play" video games in my lucid dreams, or normal dreams for that matter, are times I find myself inside the game inself, being the main character or whatnot. It's quite fascinating to partake in.

Being lucid and playing a game I could really only imagine. It'd be like you could control all the actions, making the perfect instant reply or what not.

Ok, dont get me wrong...I love video games...but playing them in lucid dreams? WHy do that when I can be in a video game? Or fly to mars and go surfing on the sand.

anyway i've never played video games, but im always IN them. playing the game in first hand.

I'm not thinking about it in terms of enjoyment, just a cool experiment to help explore the dreaming world.

Exactly my thoughts. I usually don't think to play games when I'm lucid lol.

I've had a few non lucid dreams where I was playing video games. Usually they were brought on by playing them a lot during the day, and usually I don't really remember them that much.

2 that I do remember is I was playing mario for nintendo and another time I was playing a game that was a cross between "Black and White" and "Lords of everquest" . that game was very weird and I didn't really like it that much.

I've had a similar kind of thing, when a dream gets "locked" onto doing something all night...and I keep puking ip.

I've had quite a few dreams (no lucid ones though) where I'm the main character of a video game. It's quite a thrill.. sometimes they're first person shooter games, and I'm playing against other people. I'm not really into guns or anything, but it's really fun when you know it's just a game.

well video game characters often appear in my dreams, so for a while i was thinking a dream sign could be checking everyone around me:

"steve, megan, jeff, raser, pikachu, andrea, katie, young link, mike, DK... ok im dreaming"

as you can see i was playing smash brothers too much

well i can't say i have had a LD about playing a video game but i have had heaps of dreams that seem never ending to to last for hours, after playing Grand theft auto: vice city, i once had an amazingly vivid dream(non-lucid) dream where i flew the heli-copter then jumped out and woke up all talngled up in my sheets and quilt..

I plan to explore the concept of being in games quite extensively once I become a pro-LDer sine I'm an aspiring game designer & programmer. It'd be a easy way to test designs and even come up with ideas for games.

Tonight I dreamt of playing Counter Strike in reality. Dont know what caused it, but I'm not playing CS for like 3 years already...

So dream takes place on standard map "assault" , I have sniper rifle (awp I think) and a small handgun.

few rounds go on and I'm a very good sniper

finally I rush in the building and it's just like the map, exept 1000% real'. It was so much fun. I could see dead team members sitting around and waiting for me to die but I wouldnt die easily...
Dream ended very strangely - I was semi aware and thinking of strategy and why I'm playing this game now... :/

Must have taken you many dreams to see it and accually have it put as an atavar.

just had a dream where i was playing the game some sort of Doom game, but i wasnt lucid. I'd have to tell yea...it was pretty boring until the creatures came out of the game.

I know this is a ridiculously old thread, but I have this faintest memory of playing a video game in my dream, but the thing is that all I can remember is that it was the most amazing Video game I have ever played(and I have actually played over 500+ games as a gamer)
