dream fears
For several years I have thought about this, I have felt the fear to dream because I always am lucid dreaming. My most immidiate instinct is to jump in the air and fly, yet it seems the moment I do so, I am pulled down and kept on the ground. Another force taking control. I have experienced dream paralysis, but this is different. Honest, it is like the moment I awaken in my dreams, I am attacked and held down. I LOVE the lucidity, but fear this presence. Anyone have any thoughts or know what I am talking about? I actually drink to prevent dreaming, when I don't take sleeping pills or depressents, I can get "lost" all day in this realm. No I think I am not crazy, just hoping to hear more about this.

I remember having a similar problem when I was a child. I was once even "trapped' in slow motion. I trained myself to recall that I was dreaming and to try and take control if anything like that happened again. Actually, that may have been how I learned to lucid dream. That was my solution.
Because you already know you're lucid, it should be easier. Just remember that you have control over it ALL. The other force is doubt. Whatever you believe is going to happen, happens. It's all in your head.

This force keeps coming for you because you fear it and expect it to come. As soon as you become lucid your first thought is probably "now that force is going to get me", and sure enough it does. The only way to get rid of it is to stop fearing your dreams. Let them come, become lucid and try to fly. Keep doing that every chance you get and ignore that force that holds you down. Depends how deeply ingrained the fear of it is, it should stop pretty quickly.
Drinking to prevent dreaming will only make it worse when you do dream because your exhibiting escapist behavior, trying to run away from it.
