One year gone by...nothing good yet

Well, we're coming up on the end of march, the time last year when I began attempting to lucid dream. In twelve months, I've had less than ten lucid dreams. None of them are worth noting. I write down my dreams, I do reality checks, and I have even tried B-vitamins. You guys are obviously doing something which I have missed; please share, I'm at my wit's end.

Well how did you succeed in your previous lucid dreams? What method did you use, and how were you feeling? Were you on a regular sleep pattern? And were you always attempting to have one as you went to bed?

I've only had 2 since last November, but I know that I haven't been trying as hard as I did when I had those 2. I've only recently learned of other methods besides DILDs and I still haven't been able to get into the mindset of getting ludid. Plus my sleeping schedule sucks during the week because of my classes and my procrastination habits keep me up late.

I would say as long as you've been RCing, and getting a regular nights sleep, and keeping a dream journal... you might just need to try some new methods. Mix some methods up and tweak them and find out what works best for you.

I dont know what to say man, maybe take a break and it'll come to you? I've heard of people doing that. You have to wait until it's completely off your mind though

      Have you tried a WILD?

Don't worry about it, man. I've been trying for a couple years, and have had about as much success as you. Only recently have I been able to improve my recall to a point which I'm happy with. Keep working hard. Everyone moves at their own pace.

I know how you feel man...

I know how you feel man. I've tried LDing about 3 other times seriously, but I can never seem to make it happen. I've only had 1 real lucid experience, but I woke up about 3 seconds after I got lucid. The other lucid dream I had was less than fulfilling. You just gotta keep trying.

If you still haven't had an LD after 1 year, you should began to try to learn WILDing. It could be the perfect thing for you to help force LDing.

I don't have any methods, special drugs, etc. for you. I've started maybe 1 month ago. I had my "first" last night, although it was short, I can predict more to come. I reccommend that you not overthink it. Don't spend all your day doing reality checks, writing in journals and browsing this forum. Just kick it back and relax. Just keep lucid dreaming in your mind overall as a goal. My lucid dream came out of nowhere and happened for no reason. I hadn't been keeping my journal well, taking vitamins, or practicing WILD.

First you need to put in a ton of effort into it. Try every technique for a week each. Do WBTBs whenever you can. Keep a very Detailed dream journal. RC lots, and take B6 once or twice a week. Keep a steady sleep schedual. Try MILD for a couple of days. When that doesnt work, WBTB for a couple of days. When that doesnt work try FILD with a wbtb for a couple of days. When that doesnt work try TILD. When that doesnt work try the CAT method. Then PILD. Then RILD. Then WILD. etc. All while doing RCs and keeping a dream journal and taking B6 once a week.

You put in as much effort as humanly possible for the next month or two, and if you still dont have one, then take a break for awhile. Dont think about LDing for awhile.

Some people can LD easily, others it takes some MAJOR effort to do. And if you aren't satisfied with how far you've come, then make a change. LDing is the same as any skill. You have to really work at it to get good.
