You should have asked or at least made a remark regarding reality checks - never know, could have been another DV member who lurks around the forum .

Nope, never seen another person do one but then again I doubt people around here know much about the concept of lucid dreaming.

I've never seen what I thought was another person doing a reality check.

Too bad there isn't a secret "hand signal" or something that you could give someone and if they gave it back..
(just make sure you're not in "gang" territory tho.)

I often get weird looks when reality checking, if I choose not to be discreet about it. I agree with the hand signal thing

I once saw my friend, sitting on a couch near me, looking bored, push his index finger against the palm of his hand, quite possibly a RC, but the kid is a bit quirky. I was going to ask him about it, but I wasnt sure if it was, and didnt see him by himself.

Never happened to me, but it doesn't stop me from doing RCs in public. If you see me RCing, don't hesitate to walk up and say hi!

As for the hand signal, what about brushing the tip of your nose with your thumb, and then trying to push it through your hand. Just a thought...

LOL!! I like that.. or better yet, brushing the tip of your nose with your thumb and then try to push your finger through your hand.

I was thinking more along the lines of attempting to push your finger through your palm, but being overt about it. Making it like a sort of "salute." Pushing the finger through the palm in a similar fashion or style as the Japanese wrap their palm over a closed hand to bow. I think it'd be really cool to have something like that going, dreamer's identifying themselves as such.

No I haven't, but people call me on them all the time. Nobody's told me yet that they LD, but friends have asked me what I was doing, to which I say, "Seeing if I'm dreaming, I wanted to go flying for a bit."

Then whenever anybody sees me RCing, they know what I'm doing and call me on it. Lots of people in my classes either say the stuff like, "That's so amazing, I wanna learn that!" when I tell them about LDing, and a couple ask me for advice. I know one friend has lurked on here, but don't think he's joined.

If I saw somebody doing anything that slightly resembled an RC, I would just say, "You're not dreaming. " (The wink is included).

That is, after I RCed many times to make sure I wasn't either.

I would be doing this all day long. It would probably be a good dream sign if you actually saw somebody doing it back!

Ok.. but we need to clarify it it's with the thumb up like a gun or with the thumb down like you're pointing at somthing (personally I'd say thumb down.. just for safety sake).

Yes! We need a "secret" lucid dreamer hand signal/salute! Spread the word, and sticky it! All lucid dreamers over the world need to learn it.

Maybe it should be something a little more discreet. Because if you think you see a LD'r and you hold your hands up and push one finger into yours hands, you better hope you are right or you will look like a right idiot

Once I thought I was dream and I tried to run though a wall... not very pleasant experience. Yes I have seen people do that many times.
