A Question For All Dah Ladies - LDs & PMS

      Hello Females,

I was wondering if anybody else experiences incredibly detailed dreams during or the week before their period. Obviously, that's about the time our hormones are seriously out of wack so I guess it makes sense.

Would this be an ideal time for a lucid dream to happen or to induce one? Has anybody had a lucid dream during this time? I'm curious because my time of the month is coming up pretty soon so I thought I'd give it a shot...

I doubt there's any relationship. Your hormones are not "out of whack" during that time either.. it's all a perfectly calculated process. Furthermore, a recent (legitimate) survey showed that only about 20% of women reported any hint of change in mood during that time (i.e. PMS). So really, that time of the month isn't too different from any other time of the month for most women. This is probably good news - you can have LDs at any time of the month you like!

Well I'm not a girl, but it's possible that some people may experience increased dreams/lucidity, but probably not every woman will. After all, something is happening to your body during that time, and dreams are heavily dependent the state of your mental and physical condition, and what you sense/undergo during the day.

kaeraz, since PMS for me can mean "cramps" and "irritability" (wow I sound like a commercial).. PMS can definately have a negative affect on my ability to lucid dream (especially since my method of choice is WILDing).

Wow. I suppose this wasn't as common as I initially figured. I don't know what it is. I'm on the pill and that, thankfully, stops most of the common symptoms like your infomercial.
But every week before my period, without fail, I have incredibly wild and vivid dreams and I remember them much better than I do any other time of the month. Maybe it's just a myth I've propogated into my subconscious. LOL.

I'll have to do a bit of researching! Tah tah!

I don't think I have especially vivid dreams at that time, either. However, I tend to get cramps during the night, and the pain manifests itself into my lucid dreams. Last time, I ran around begging random DC for painkillers, hoping it would work.

Have any of you other females experienced similar?...

Perhaps it's the use of the pills that are actually making your dreams more vivid.

Wow, that never even occurred to me...

I wanna say it was the same before I was on the pill, but it's been so long I don't remember for sure.

I highly doubt that as well. Personally, I was on the pill and went off it a few months ago and didn't notice any change in that department.

I've never noticed a change in my dreams pre-period. However, I do get cramps and that can keep me awake at night. Sometimes I'll have dreams where I have pain. Like getting hit by a bus, or having a lion chewing on me...

      Ah...gotta love being a woman.
