I was just wondering how you all stumbled apon lucid dreaming? Also why do so few people know about it?
This thread was already made here.
And I think lucid dreaming is just one of the many things people don't know about becauseof lack of public attention.
I think there has been a few threads about this: psychology class.
A post on a completely different forum.
I first went on LD4all at first. I became a member there last summer. I knew about lucid dreaming since 2006 I think. Honestly, I don't remember how I came across it. I have just been on and off the past two years.
I think most people who LD (including me, until a week ago) have been LDing all their life without knowing what it was called.
I bet people have had lucid experiences before, but don't know that you can induce them.
That's how it was with me, at least.
I had always been interested in dreams but when I was a kid I saw LaBerge's "Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming" in a bookstore and had my mom buy it for me.
That was really my complete introduction to using techniques to consciously have LDs.
I had many LDs during my teens but life sort of made me lose focus on it for a while. I rekindled my interest last summer and have been practicing at varying levels of consistency since then.
I fall into the category of been experiencing it for years but didn't know there was a word for it, and a way to consciously achieve it.
About a month or two ago I stumbled across a wiki-book about LD which directed me to ld4all and from there I stumbled here.....
I experienced LDing once a few years ago, but back then I didn't know about lucid dreaming.
But discovering that lucid dreaming was possible was through literally stumbling onto this forum when I was looking to try and interpret my dreams better. Of course, the concept interested me loads, so I stuck around and joined :D
I had one about 2 years ago and finally decided to research it
I don't really want to bump the old thread so...
I was introduced to lucid dreaming by a Google search and a lame attempt to get money off lucid dreaming, I searched for more info about it and I ended up in a binaural beat site, that introduced me to binaural beats as well.
By that time, my dream recall was horrible (around 1 dream per week) and most of my dreams were nightmares, I can't recall any lucid dream before I started with this LD stuff.
I found this site when I was in that binaural beat site, there was a link to this site in a lucid dream preset, so I lurked in the forums for a while, that was a long time ago, I decided to join just a few months ago.
I've been LD'ing my whole life accidently without knowing there was a name for it, or even that everyone didn't do it. I always assumed it was normal.
I found out more about it when I was reading and article I found on Digg.com about how to sleep better (my sleep habits suck) and LD'ing was listed as the best way to help you get a better night's sleep, so I did some research into it and ended up here. :)
I became lucid.
Do you really do about lucid dreaming in psycology because I'm taking it for sixth form next year (a UK syllabus though obviously)?
I honestly don't remember.:?
I decided to check out the Paranormal board on GameFAQs, there was a topic on lucid dreaming and whether it was real or not. In that topic was a link to a website, which I forget now, which in turn linked to LD4All I think. I think I then searched Google for lucid dreaming forums, or something.
I was surfing the internet at work. Looking at 4chan. I was in the /x/ paranormal board reading about someone's experience with SP. Someone mentioned lucid dreaming, so I did a Google search for lucid dreaming forums and found this site.
i found it cause a friend told me but i didnt bother making any sense of what the were saying until 1-3 years later forgot how long ago it was
A few years ago i had an OBE and got interested in stuff like that. I did a research on OBEs and APs and i stumbled across a lucid dreaming website. I loved the idea of controlling my dreams and searched for more info on it, so i joined ld4all about 2 years ago. :content:
That special on ABC about it, believe it or not i somehow never heard of it before that.
That is a very good question... One night I had a dream where I knew it was a dream. I wanted to know what it was called and I ended up here! the end!
