Thread: how long did it take you to have a lucid dream

hey, i was wondering how long it took everyone out there to have a lucid dream, i am extremely dedicated and focused on having one and have been for the past few days but still havent achieved lucidity. I know a few days isnt long but the schoolyear is starting soon and im just gettin anxious, plus i was just wonderin how long it took you guys to ahve lucid dreams

I had one lucid dream, then found this board, and about... hmm two weeks after that my 2nd one I think.... And after that it took a loooong time to get my 3rd, heh. It differs for everyone.

I had em when i was a kid, before I knew what they were. After watching Waking Life, I had one that night.

Um..a couple of weeks after joining? XD....But it was extremly short and un vivid, no control.

first one when i was a kid to get out of a bad situation in a dream i yelled to myself it just a dream and woke up, after watchin waking life i googled this site and looked around for like 3 weeks and had my second one. third one about a month after that....now waiting for lucky number 4

well, im a natural, so it has been forever.

I think it was like 2-3 days after I learned specific techniques.

But I knew about LDs for 3 months before that event

where do u think i can get it like a blockbuster or hollywood video?

It was a little while ago (around when I joined) but I'd guess that it took about a week and a half before I had my first LD. The second LD took place about a week after that and I had five more (one each night) every night after it. Hypnotic induction of DILD rules.

ive read that section of laberges book, but what is hypnotic induction i really never understood how itworked, mind explainin it?

it only took me 2 days after looking at this site..... Though I am very deticated......... But my lucid dream wan't well controlled

I didn't even know it was in LaBerge's book, never found it to read it . Anyways, hypnotic induction is basically hypnotizing yourself to have LDs, causing (for me) dream characters to be alot more helpful. Stuff like pointing out a banner that says in flashing colours, "!!!You're dreaming!!!(in association with Gothlark Inc.)" This happened last night, I think it said Gothlark... Anyways, most of the time they're more helpful but sometimes the subsoncious will let you realize you're dreaming only to have dream characters knock you out into non-lucidity or the subconcious will help you but the dream characters are neutral. Also, Placebo said that using my self-hypnosis method among other things allowed him to WILD. Hope I got that all down there.
