      Yup. I've tried the old cliche pinches and leaping off cliffs. It seems I'm not allowed to wake up until my subconscious is done with me.

      But it only really matters in lucid nightmares, which with practice one can be turned around. Otherwise, why would you want to wake up before time? The dream will ALWAYS end, and you'll probably wish you were back in it.
