The art of dreaming by Carlos Castaneda

      Anyone read this book?

I found it to be very helpful and quite true in the ways of dreaming, i read about some techniques there years after i have been practising them and discovered by myself in dreams. But I am primarily interested in two of its aspects of whether someone else has allready tried them.

      1) seeing energy and knowing if the dream is just a dream or a deeper voyage into the astral realms. Also following other beings from our dream after we have discovered them. I've tried seeing energy only few times and seen it couple of times , the last time i focused on a purple blob of energy after which i flew through colorful tunnels and ended up in a rainbow color made cave with other blobs of energy. After which i decided its best not to risk it any further and wake up.. which happened in a way that i felt my energy returning back through that tunnel while being half awoken and seeing a bit of my room.

      2) falling asleep inside the dream and fortifying the dream even further. This i managed only once to lie down in the dream and relax which made it more solid. But the last time i entered a very solid dream which felt off this world i tried falling asleep inside of it.. but this time this only made me more aware of my sleeping body and i entered a less focused dream.

If not about these two specific issues i'd like to know what other people think of this book and how it has worked for them.

I've read it. It has given quite a bit to think about and things to try. It was that book that first prompted my interest in flying by letting things attract me instead of using my own powers.

It has also gotten me quite interested in detecting and manipulating my assemblage point.

I've not yet tried to see energy or see behind the facades put in place by dream characters, but it is on my to do list

I have fallen asleep in a lucid dream and entered another lucid dream. Than in itself was quite an experience and had a big impact on how I view reality.

The book was very week in my opinion on how to induce lucid dreams, LaBerge's book is mutch better in this aspect.

All around, a very worthwhile book that every lucid dreamer should read. I've decided that over the next few months, I am going to re-read all of the C.C. books I read years ago, starting with Teachings of Don Juan and then pick up all the ones I missed.

Although I disagree with many of the old Shamanic teachings, there are lots of interesting concepts in these teachings that I wish to explore further.
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

So far i remember 2 attempts to see energy.

First one I just randomly targeted a man, and got some weird results.
Dont remember exactly, but it seemed like man's belly started to shine.

Second time dream character (very vivid black man sitting on my bed during a FA ) simply refused and attempt failed :/

      Attraction flying does work

Some concepts in the book are fascinating, and I'm waiting for a clear

high lucidity dream to try them... Visiting inorganic beings realm is #1 on

      my to do list
