Thread: How long did it take you to get a lucid dream

Only took me three days, I didn't start my dream journal 'till a long time after I started though.

About a week.

I've kept a dream journal for years, but within two or three days of finding out about lucidity and joining DV, I had my first lucid.

Something like 11 days. I didn't keep a dream journal and I still don't. Galantamine gave me my first few lucids. Now I can have them without galantamine, though.

You must be kidding, it took me many monthes before i made it.

I first learned about lucid dreams after reading a book my mom had bought, this was back when I was in grade 7 in 2001. I kept trying to lucid dreams without success, and I eventually gave up after several months. Then, in January of 2006, the interest in lucid dreams came BACK, but I gave up once again several weeks later.
Finally, in October of 2007, I got BACK INTO LUCID DREAMING FOR THE THIRD TIME... and I had my FIRST lucid dream on November 28th! It was really really awesome and I doubt I will give up so easily this time because I know it is actually possible for me to have them and I know how incredible it is.

I think the reason why the third attempt was successful was because I finally got in the habit of taking reality checks seriously and performing them regularily.

I had always wanted to LD for as long as I can remember, but I had my first about 2 weeks after I found this site. My second one wasn't until about a month later, but it's been about 6 months now and I'm up to a few a week. This site can help you more than you can imagine.

took me about 3 weeks for a faint one but my first!

I had a few very low level ones last saturday morning that only lasted like 5-10 seconds each before waking up. I hadn't done much in my dream journal. just scribbled down plot points in the dark with my eyes closed, but I had been doing that for a little less than a week.

Well, I've had one once before a few years back. But I only found about all this and self inducing lucids 2 days ago, and havn't had one since then. Hopefully tonight though.

i had my first lucid like the first 3rd week from the day i started,,and after that no more lucid dreams til now.but its only been two months..so i dont worry too much

I'm one of the lucky ones here who had naturally occurring LD's a few times a year since I was little, but after I found this site and began doing RC's and keeping a dream journal I would say it was about a week before my first RC induced lucid.

on the 5th nite of recording my dreams.

1st ld nov 17 --several secs
2nd ld nov 18--several secs
3rd ld nov 29 (not even trying to ld---5 min +/-
4th ld Dec 1 --1 min +/- flew
5th ld dec 8 1-2 minkissed a boy, failed to summon someone, couldnt fly
6th &7th ld dec 13 each 5-30 sec
