      Make LDs last longer?

      Maybe wrong forum, dunno, but
as i stated above, how to make them last longer?
I've had 3 LD's so far, but they lasted like 30 seconds, and i got no control either. And i must
rub my hands every 5 sec or the dream will fade away, kinda annoying .
      Any help would be appreciated.

Well, it seems that the hand rubbing helps, at least.

From what I've heard, it's common for the first lucid dreams to not last long, some wake up as soon as they go lucid. My best advice is to not give up, keep working on lucid dream frequency, and you should have them last longer.

It could also be a good idea to stop by the Dream Control section, and read some threads and look for tips there. I'm sure others have more suggestions.

      And welcome to Dreamviews!

What helps me is i use verbal demands such as increase lucidity, increase clarity, more lucidity, more clarity.

      It works well.

Forgot to mention that i did try to yell increase clarity, didn't seem to work for me :p.
Heh, my first LD lasted around 3 secs.
But eh, got another problem, sometimes i cannot control myself, like the first time i tried to scream increase clarity, my mouth stayed shut, after a while tho i could. And i tried to open a door, my arms wouldn't want to move. :/

You might just want to try working on your confidence as well. My first lucid dream was well over 20 minutes because as soon as i became lucid i knew i could do whatever i wanted and never even thought about the dream dissapearing.

In short, the dream is a creation of YOUR mind, it only dissapears if you allow it. Just try to remember you can make it come back without doing any technique.

If you need techniques: Focus on a single item, Spin around with your arms out to each side, shout a command, turn around and expect a perfectly stable dream to be behind you, try to call your dream guide and ask it to help you keep stability

xennah, you ought to try just walking around or examining your surroundings... don't do anything that will make your heart race
